Achievo Corporation announced a $24 million Series B financing on February 27, 2007, from institutional and private investors. The company said the money would cover current obligations and future operating needs; it did not name a specific acquisition as the purpose of the round.
What Achievo said the $24 million would fund
In its February 27, 2007 announcement, Achievo described the Series B as sufficient to cover its current obligations and future operating needs. The announcement identified the investors only as institutional and private investors, without naming them. Achievo’s announcement is the primary source for the terms and stated use of proceeds.
Chief financial officer Julio Leung said: “The Series B round of $24 million is more than adequate to cover current obligations and future operating needs. If we decide to pursue additional funding in the future, it will be related to major acquisitions and strategic corporate development initiatives.” The second sentence is conditional and refers to possible future funding, not a decision to raise more money or an earmark for the current round.
How Achievo described its outsourcing business in 2007
Achievo presented itself as a software and information-technology outsourcing provider that combined local, client-facing operations with much of its back-end programming in China. The company said it had delivery capabilities in 14 cities worldwide and served clients in financial services, automotive, telecommunications, and technology. Those are figures and descriptions from the company’s 2007 announcement, not claims about its present-day footprint.

Contemporaneous InfoWorld coverage by Sumner Lemon described Achievo as California-based, with offices in Japan, Germany, Taiwan, Canada, and the United States, plus six offices in China. The report also said much of the company’s back-end programming was done in .Net and Java. These details describe the business as reported in February 2007; they should not be read as a current office map or technology stack.
Was the financing specifically for an acquisition?
No named acquisition was tied to the $24 million in the announcement. Achievo said it had grown through both organic expansion and mergers and acquisitions, and Leung mentioned major acquisitions and strategic corporate development only as possible reasons for seeking additional funding in the future. That distinguishes the company’s broader growth strategy from the stated use of this Series B round.

What is established about Achievo’s later history
Beyondsoft’s company-history page lists an acquisition of Achievo Group in its mergers-and-acquisitions history: Beyondsoft company history. That supports a limited historical note, but it does not establish that Achievo continues to operate independently, that every operation was acquired, or that the Achievo name remains a distinct operating business. The page is hosted on a demo subdomain, so broader claims about the transaction should not be inferred from it.
