Otherweb is a digital news and information service, not a physical product. Historically, it combined news, opinion, podcasts, research and summaries in a customizable feed, with its 2024 News Concierge feature using AI to answer questions across news coverage. Its current availability and feature set are uncertain: the Otherweb domain is labeled “Acquired by SAI Technologies,” but the available evidence does not confirm whether the legacy app still operates.
What was the Otherweb AI News App?
Otherweb was presented as a “junk-free information platform” that gathered news, opinion columns, podcasts, research studies and other material. Its company description said it used natural-language-processing-based filtering and gave readers tools to customize their feeds and see information about the content. Otherweb’s company profile
The service was available on the web and through apps, according to a company announcement in 2024. Historical Product Hunt materials also describe concise article summaries, category or quality filters, a customizable feed and an article “nutrition label” intended to characterize content. Those are historical product descriptions, not confirmation that the features remain available today. Otherweb’s April 18, 2024 announcement · Product Hunt’s historical listing

Otherweb announced News Concierge on April 18, 2024, describing it as a chatbot that could assemble an answer from multiple news items. The company said users could set a topic and time period and specify details to include or leave out. It also said the feature remembered recent queries and could adapt to user preferences. These are company-reported capabilities from 2024, not independently verified performance results or a current feature list. Otherweb’s April 18, 2024 announcement

The announcement said responses included references to underlying news items. That could help readers follow up on a synthesized answer, but citations alone do not establish that a summary is complete or accurate; readers still need to inspect the referenced coverage, particularly for disputed or consequential claims.
What reach and technology did Otherweb report?
In its April 18, 2024 News Concierge announcement, Otherweb made the following company-reported claims. They are historical figures, not current or independently audited measurements.

Can you use Otherweb now?
Current continuity is not established. The Otherweb domain is titled “otherweb.com – Acquired by SAI Technologies,” but the retrieved page did not provide readable details about the acquisition, the successor service or the legacy app. Otherweb domain
A third-party directory reproduces transition messaging and says a new service is anticipated, but it does not independently document deal terms or establish a launch date. Product Hunt’s retained app-store references and 2022 launch material are historical and do not prove that the app is currently listed, supported or operational. Accordingly, treat descriptions of Otherweb’s features as historical. Current app availability, pricing, privacy terms, platform support and whether the service has been replaced remain unverified.
Who might have found it useful?
Otherweb’s historical pitch may have suited readers who wanted to spend less time scrolling while still following topics across multiple sources. A Product Hunt reviewer expressed that goal in a single review; it should not be read as representative user research. Product Hunt listing and reviews

For anyone considering a news reader or AI news tool, the useful questions are whether it exposes its source articles, offers control over topics and chronology, and clearly distinguishes a synthesized answer from the reporting it summarizes. Otherweb’s 2024 announcement described references in answers and user controls, but its current implementation cannot be confirmed.
Is Otherweb a device or product to buy?
No. Otherweb is a digital service, and the available information does not establish a need for a particular phone, tablet, e-reader or headphones. Nor does it establish current subscription or referral terms. The company historically described the service as operating without affiliate links, but that statement does not verify policy after the reported acquisition. Otherweb’s 2024 announcement
