For most buyers choosing between the India-market OPPO Reno16 5G and Reno16c 5G, the decision comes down to cameras and display versus price, screen size and expandable storage. Choose the Reno16 for its 50MP ultra-wide camera, 4K/60fps video and sharper, brighter display. Choose the Reno16c if you want the lower listed entry price, a larger screen, a higher-capacity battery and memory-card support. Both have a 50MP 3.5x optical telephoto camera.
What is the difference between the OPPO Reno16 and Reno16c?
This comparison is for the India models: Reno16 5G (CPH2865) and Reno16c 5G (CPH2859). OPPO sells other Reno16-family phones in other markets under different names and with different specifications, so check the model number rather than assuming a similarly named phone is identical. OPPO Reno16 specifications and OPPO Reno16c specifications identify the India versions.

Specifications and dated page prices in the table are from OPPO India’s Reno16 page and Reno16c page. OPPO’s India launch announcement describes both displays as 120Hz. The 2 July 2026 launch announcement also gives launch prices that differ from the later page listings; current transaction prices can change.
Choose the Reno16 if camera versatility and screen clarity matter most
You use the ultra-wide camera often
The Reno16’s 50MP ultra-wide has the same stated 116° field of view as the Reno16c’s 8MP ultra-wide, but the higher resolution gives it the stronger specification for retaining detail in wide landscapes, architecture and group scenes. This is a specification-based distinction, not a claim about controlled image-quality testing.

- 158.2 x 74.9 x 8.4 mm or 8.6 mm, 194 g or 196 g (6.84 oz)
You want smoother 4K recording options
OPPO lists rear video recording up to 4K/60fps on the Reno16, compared with 4K/30fps on the Reno16c. The Reno16 is the better fit if you want that higher frame rate for motion or more flexibility when editing. Both share the same stated 50MP 3.5x optical telephoto camera, so choosing the Reno16 does not give you a higher-resolution telephoto specification.
You prefer a sharper, brighter display
The Reno16 packs more pixels into a smaller 6.32-inch screen: 2640 × 1216 at 460 PPI, versus 2372 × 1080 at 397 PPI on the 6.57-inch Reno16c. OPPO also lists higher HBM brightness for the Reno16, 1,800 nits versus 1,400 nits. The Reno16c’s display is physically larger, but the Reno16 has the edge on stated sharpness and brightness.

- 158.2 x 74.9 x 8.4 mm or 8.6 mm, 194 g or 196 g (6.84 oz)
You value the listed platform and memory specifications
The Reno16 pairs a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 with LPDDR5X memory; the Reno16c lists a Dimensity 7300-Energy and LPDDR4X. Those specifications favor the Reno16 on paper, but they do not establish a measured performance advantage in everyday use. An independent 91mobiles Reno16c review dated 2 July 2026 describes performance as less impressive while also citing design, battery life and imaging as reasons to consider it; that is the reviewer’s assessment, not a benchmark result for every user.

You want the lower listed entry price
OPPO’s later India product pages list the Reno16c from ₹49,999 and the Reno16 from ₹66,999. Those figures are dated page prices, not guaranteed current checkout prices. At launch on 2 July 2026, OPPO announced different prices: the Reno16 was ₹61,999 for 8GB+256GB and ₹67,999 for 12GB+256GB; Reno16c was ₹46,999 for 8GB+128GB, ₹49,999 for 8GB+256GB and ₹55,999 for 12GB+256GB. Compare the exact RAM/storage configuration and seller price before buying.
Rank #3
- 6.57 inches, AMOLED, 1B colors, 1080 x 2372 pixels

- Android 16, ColorOS 16, Mediatek Dimensity 7300 Energy (4 nm), Octa-core (4x2.5 GHz Cortex-A78 & 4x2.0 GHz Cortex-A55)
- Rear: 50 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide), 1/2.0", 0.8µm, PDAF, OIS, 50 MP, f/2.8, 92mm (telephoto), 1/3.13", 0.56µm, PDAF, OIS, 3.5x optical zoom, 8 MP, f/2.2, 15mm, 116˚ (ultrawide), 1/4.0", 1.12µm, AF, Front: 50 MP, f/2.0, 18mm, 100˚ (ultrawide), 1/2.88", 0.61µm, AF
- 158.2 x 74.5 x 8.4 mm or 8.6 mm, 194 g or 196 g (6.84 oz)
You prefer a larger display
The Reno16c’s 6.57-inch AMOLED display gives more physical screen area than the Reno16’s 6.32-inch panel. That may suit reading or video viewing if size matters more to you than pixel density or the higher stated brightness of the Reno16.
You need a memory card
OPPO lists memory-card support for the Reno16c and no storage-card expansion for the Reno16. Check the phone’s exact compatibility and card requirements before choosing a card; the specifications cited here do not establish a particular card type or maximum capacity.
Rank #4
- 6.32 inches, AMOLED, 1B colors, 1216 x 2640 pixels
- 512GB Storage, 12GB RAM
- Android 16, ColorOS 16, Mediatek Dimensity 8550 Super (4 nm), Octa-core (1x3.4 GHz Cortex-A725 & 3x3.2 GHz Cortex-A725 & 4x2.2 GHz Cortex-A725)

You prioritize stated battery capacity
The Reno16c has a 7,000mAh typical capacity (6,850mAh rated), compared with 6,700mAh typical (6,490mAh rated) for the Reno16. Both list 80W SUPERVOOC charging. The larger capacity is a useful point of comparison, but capacity alone does not prove which phone lasts longer in your usage.
How to compare prices without mixing launch and later listings
OPPO’s launch announcement dated 2 July 2026 said sales would begin on 9 July through Amazon India, Flipkart, mainline retail and OPPO’s e-store. The later Reno16 product page states its price was correct on 31 August 2026, while the Reno16c page states its price was correct on 9 September 2026. Since those dated figures do not match the launch prices, treat neither as a timeless price: check the live listing, configuration, seller and any applicable offer when you are ready to buy.

Checks to make before placing an order
- Verify the model number: CPH2865 is the India Reno16 and CPH2859 is the India Reno16c. Regional Reno16-family models can have different specifications; OPPO Global notes that specifications and availability vary by market.
- Check NFC and eSIM requirements: OPPO’s India specifications say neither phone supports NFC or eSIM, which matters if you depend on contactless payments or an eSIM plan.
- Confirm what is in the box: OPPO lists a charger and protective case for both India models, while noting that box contents can vary by market.
- Review seller-specific terms: OPPO’s Reno16c India page states a 12-month standard warranty in India and a 30-day exchange window for functionally defective devices bought through OPPO Store. Check the terms that apply to your seller and purchase date.
- Do not assume durability ratings mean indestructibility: both pages list IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K, but those ratings do not make either phone safe for every kind of water exposure or damage.
Do not apply specifications from a review of another regional model to these India variants. For example, TechRadar’s August 2026 review lists a 6,000mAh battery for its reviewed Reno16 version, whereas OPPO India lists 6,700mAh typical for CPH2865. That review’s specification should not be merged with the India model’s listing.
