For buyers in India, the OPPO Reno16 5G and POCO X8 Pro Max are aimed at different priorities: OPPO specifies a compact 6.32-inch display and a dedicated 3.5x optical telephoto camera, while POCO’s global specification lists a much larger 6.83-inch screen, an 8,500mAh typical battery and 100W charging. OPPO’s India page listed the Reno16 from ₹66,999 as of 31 August 2026; a ₹48,999 POCO figure shown by 91mobiles is a time-sensitive secondary listing, not an official POCO price. Prices and exact specifications can vary by market. Figures below reflect the cited manufacturer pages accessed on 4 October 2026 unless a different date is stated.

Manufacturer specifications describe listed hardware, not controlled head-to-head results. The OPPO display, camera, battery and charging figures above come from OPPO Egypt’s regional page; they should not be assumed to describe every Reno16 sold in every country. OPPO India identifies its Reno16 5G as model CPH2865 and cautions that Reno16-series models sold elsewhere have different specifications and prices. See OPPO Egypt’s Reno16 specifications, OPPO India’s Reno16 page, and POCO’s global X8 Pro Max specifications.
Price difference: what the India listings do and do not show
OPPO India lists the Reno16 at ₹66,999 for 8GB + 256GB and ₹72,999 for 12GB + 256GB. The official page says those prices include taxes, were correct as at 31 August 2026, and are subject to change; it also gives list prices of ₹89,999 and ₹99,999 respectively. Check OPPO India’s current listing before buying.

That is a secondary offer snapshot, not a manufacturer-confirmed POCO India price. Its page also displayed ₹66,999 for Reno16, which differs from the dated official OPPO India prices above. Treat such comparison-page figures as changeable listings, not fixed prices: verify the seller, stock, storage configuration and current offer in your market. The cited prices do not establish a definitive like-for-like price gap because they come from different sources and may not match by date, seller or configuration. Screen size and handling
The clearest day-to-day distinction in the listed hardware is size. OPPO Egypt specifies a 6.32-inch, 120Hz AMOLED display at 2640 × 1216 pixels for Reno16; POCO’s global page specifies a 6.83-inch, 120Hz AMOLED panel at 1.5K for X8 Pro Max. Both are high-refresh-rate AMOLED screens, but the diagonal difference points to a meaningful handling choice: the smaller Reno16 is the more natural option to consider if you prefer a more compact phone, while the larger POCO gives more screen area for viewing content. These specifications alone do not establish comparative brightness, outdoor visibility or display quality.
Performance: different chips, no verified speed winner
OPPO names the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 for the Reno16 on its Egypt specification page; POCO names the Dimensity 9500s for X8 Pro Max on its global page. Those are different chipsets, but the cited material supplies no controlled benchmark comparison or measured everyday-use test. A chipset name by itself is not enough to declare one phone faster for gaming, multitasking or general use.
Rank #2
- 6.32 inches, AMOLED, 1B colors, 1216 x 2640 pixels
- 512GB Storage, 12GB RAM
- Android 16, ColorOS 16, Mediatek Dimensity 8550 Super (4 nm), Octa-core (1x3.4 GHz Cortex-A725 & 3x3.2 GHz Cortex-A725 & 4x2.2 GHz Cortex-A725)
- Rear: 200 MP, f/1.8, 24mm (wide), 1/1.56", 0.5µm, PDAF, OIS, 50 MP, f/2.8, 80mm (telephoto), 1/2.75", 0.64µm, PDAF, OIS, 3.5x optical zoom, 50 MP, f/2.0, 16mm, 116˚ (ultrawide), 1/2.88", 0.61µm, AF. Front: 50 MP, f/2.0, 18mm, 100˚ (ultrawide), 1/2.75", 0.64µm, AF
Memory and storage also need a local-model check. OPPO Egypt lists the Reno16 as 12GB + 256GB and specifies LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage; OPPO India lists 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB configurations. The cited POCO global specification page does not state a matching memory-and-storage configuration, so compare the exact local SKU rather than assuming parity.
Camera comparison: optical zoom versus a simpler rear setup
Reno16’s distinctive camera hardware is its dedicated 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom and OIS, alongside a 50MP main camera with 2-axis OIS and a 50MP 116° ultrawide. It also has a 50MP autofocus front camera, according to OPPO Egypt. That specification gives it a clearly listed optical-zoom camera and higher-resolution selfie camera than the POCO’s stated front-camera resolution.

- 158.2 x 74.9 x 8.4 mm or 8.6 mm, 194 g or 196 g (6.84 oz)
POCO lists a 50MP OIS main camera and an 8MP ultrawide, plus a 20MP front camera. The comparison here is about listed camera hardware, not photo quality: megapixel counts and lens specifications do not establish which phone takes better pictures in real conditions. Choose based on whether the dedicated telephoto and higher-resolution autofocus front camera on OPPO matter to your photography, and look for local camera samples if image quality is decisive.
Battery capacity and charging
POCO lists an 8,500mAh typical battery and 100W HyperCharge for X8 Pro Max. OPPO Egypt lists 6,700mAh typical capacity, 6,490mAh rated capacity, and up to 80W SUPERVOOC for Reno16. These are manufacturer-stated capacities and maximum charging specifications, not measured battery endurance or a head-to-head charging test. POCO cautions that battery configuration can vary by market and that its battery-life claims depend on its own test conditions; confirm the exact local version before relying on the global figure.

5G and regional model checks
OPPO’s Reno16 name covers regional variants, and its India page specifically identifies model CPH2865 while warning that models sold elsewhere may have different specifications and prices. POCO’s global page lists broad network-band support but warns that 5G availability depends on region and operator support. Before ordering either phone, confirm the exact model or SKU, supported bands for your carrier, and local battery and memory configuration. A global specification page is not a guarantee that every local unit supports every network used by your operator.

Which one should you choose?
- Consider Reno16 if a 6.32-inch display, a dedicated 3.5x optical telephoto camera, or a 50MP autofocus front camera better suits your priorities. Check that the regional model being sold matches the specifications you want.
- Consider POCO X8 Pro Max if you prefer a substantially larger 6.83-inch screen and value its listed 8,500mAh typical battery and 100W charging specifications. Verify the local battery variant and carrier compatibility.
- Compare live offers before deciding on price. OPPO’s India prices have an explicit 31 August 2026 date, while the cited POCO amount is a secondary listing accessed on 4 October 2026. Use current offers for the same country, storage and seller rather than treating the displayed figures as a fixed price comparison.
- Do not choose on an assumed speed or endurance win. The cited specifications do not provide independent benchmark, camera-quality, charging-time or battery-life results comparing the phones.
For camera-focused Reno16 owners, OPPO also describes OPPO Bubble as a 35g magnetic accessory with an AMOLED display that can serve as a rear-camera monitor and remote viewfinder/shutter control from up to 10 meters. OPPO says it currently supports Reno16 and Find X9 series, with support for more devices potentially added by OTA; availability and experience can vary by device and software version. Check local availability at OPPO’s OPPO Bubble page.
