What the differences mean when choosing
Camera flexibility: Reno16 has optical telephoto
OPPO documents a separate 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5× optical zoom and OIS. Motorola’s India specification page lists a main and ultrawide rear camera but no dedicated telephoto. That gives the Reno16 the more versatile documented rear-camera layout for optical zoom; it does not establish which phone produces better photos overall.
Display: Motorola is larger and faster on paper
The Edge 70 Pro’s 6.8-inch screen and maximum 144Hz refresh rate exceed the Reno16’s 6.32 inches and 120Hz. Motorola also lists a 5200-nit peak figure, while both manufacturers list 1800 nits HBM. These manufacturer figures use different brightness labels and do not by themselves establish equivalent real-world viewing conditions.

Chipset and storage: different platforms, not a speed verdict
The Reno16 pairs Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 with UFS 3.1 storage; Motorola lists Dimensity 8500 Extreme and UFS 4.1. These are meaningful component differences, but specifications alone do not prove which phone is faster in a particular app, sustains performance longer, or runs cooler.

OPPO lists a 6700mAh typical battery (6490mAh rated), compared with Motorola’s 6500mAh silicon-carbon battery. Motorola specifies 90W wired charging and 5W wired reverse charging; OPPO lists 80W SUPERVOOC. Capacity and charging wattage alone cannot establish battery endurance or charging time.

Updates and protection
Motorola states up to three years of OS upgrades and security patches. OPPO’s cited India Reno16 details page does not state a support duration, so the available information does not justify claiming OPPO support is shorter. The listed IP ratings differ, and Motorola additionally lists MIL-STD 810H; ratings are not a substitute for checking each manufacturer’s conditions and exclusions.
Which phone should you buy?
- Choose the Motorola Edge 70 Pro if a lower currently displayed entry price, a larger 144Hz display, UFS 4.1 storage, NFC or Motorola’s stated update period matters most.
- Choose the OPPO Reno16 if you want a documented dedicated 3.5× optical telephoto camera or prefer its smaller 6.32-inch display.
- Compare the exact checkout configuration before deciding: both brands list 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB options, but the available price evidence is not a synchronized same-day comparison.
India model and package details
OPPO says the India Reno16 box includes the handset, charger, USB data cable, SIM ejector tool, protective case and quick guide, and notes that box contents can vary by market. The cited Motorola India specification page does not establish its in-box contents, so the available information does not support an accessory-by-accessory comparison. Regional Reno16 variants may differ from the Indian CPH2865; Motorola also cautions that specifications can vary by market. OPPO Reno16 global market information.
