The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G has the larger, higher-resolution screen and a larger listed battery; OPPO’s Reno15c offers a higher-resolution ultra-wide selfie camera, faster listed charging and explicit IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings. Neither specification sheet establishes an overall winner, and the Redmi’s official India page does not state a price. Compare the exact storage variant and current retailer offers before deciding.

Which phone has the better display?
The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G is the larger-screen choice: its listed 6.83-inch panel has 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Reno15c has a 6.57-inch flat AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. Choose the Redmi if screen area, resolution and the stated refresh rate matter most; the OPPO is the smaller option on these figures.
How do the cameras compare?
Selfies and video
OPPO specifies a 50MP ultra-wide front camera, compared with Xiaomi’s 16MP front camera. OPPO also lists 4K HDR recording at up to 60fps for the front and main cameras, while Xiaomi lists 1080p recording for both front and rear. These listed resolutions and modes do not prove which phone takes better-looking photos or video.

Rear cameras
Both phones list 50MP main and 8MP ultra-wide rear cameras. OPPO adds a 2MP macro camera; Xiaomi specifies optical image stabilization (OIS) for its 50MP main camera. Camera count and megapixels alone do not establish image quality, so weigh the stated features against the kinds of photos you take.
Battery capacity and charging
Xiaomi lists a 9000mAh typical silicon-carbon battery and 67W charging. OPPO lists 7000mAh and 80W SUPERVOOC. The Redmi has the higher stated capacity, while the Reno15c has the higher stated charging wattage. Those figures alone cannot tell you how long either phone lasts in your use or how many minutes a full charge takes.

Durability, software and performance
Durability
OPPO lists IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings for the Reno15c. The cited Xiaomi specification page does not state a comparable rating, so the available information does not support a like-for-like durability claim.

Software and updates
The Reno15c runs ColorOS 16; Xiaomi lists HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. The reviewed official specifications do not establish how many years of operating-system or security updates either phone will receive. If update longevity matters, confirm the policy for the India model before buying rather than inferring it from the software version.
Rank #3
- 6.57 inches, AMOLED, 1B colors, 1080 x 2372 pixels
- 256GB Storage, 8GB RAM, microSDXC
- Android 16, ColorOS 16, Qualcomm SM6450 Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 (4 nm), Octa-core (4x2.2 GHz Cortex-A78 & 4x1.8 GHz Cortex-A55)

Chipsets
OPPO names the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, and Xiaomi names the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4. The chipset names alone are not enough to determine everyday speed, gaming performance or efficiency; a fair verdict would require comparable independent testing of both phones.
India prices and the price difference
OPPO India announced the Reno15c at launch for ₹34,999 with 8GB/256GB and ₹37,999 with 12GB/256GB. Xiaomi’s official India specifications page does not state a price for the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G.

- 157 x 73.9 x 8 mm (6.18 x 2.91 x 0.31 in)
When accessed in 2026, 91mobiles displayed a ₹36,999 Amazon listing for the Redmi and an out-of-stock ₹40,999 listing for the Reno15c. These are changeable secondary listing observations, not confirmed current transaction prices or a matched-configuration comparison. The observed prices do not establish a reliable price gap between the phones.
For a useful live comparison, check both retailer listings on the same day, match RAM and storage as closely as possible, and verify stock, seller, delivery location and any conditional discount. OPPO’s figures above are announced launch prices, not a promise that a retailer currently sells the phone for that amount.
Best Value
- 6.83 inches, AMOLED, 1B colors, 1272 x 2800 pixels
- 512GB Storage, 12GB RAM
- Android 15, ColorOS 15, Mediatek Dimensity 8450 (4 nm), Octa-core 3.25 GHz
- Rear: 50 MP, f/1.8, 24mm (wide), 1/1.55", PDAF, OIS, 50 MP, f/2.8, 80mm (periscope telephoto), PDAF, OIS, 3.5x optical zoom, 50 MP, f/2.0, 16mm, 116˚ (ultrawide), AF, Front: 50 MP, f/2.0, 21mm (wide), AF
Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Redmi on listed screen specifications if you want the larger 6.83-inch 1.5K, 120Hz display.
- Consider the Redmi for stated battery capacity if the 9000mAh typical rating is a priority, while remembering that capacity does not guarantee a particular runtime.
- Consider the Reno15c for selfies and listed video modes if its 50MP ultra-wide front camera and advertised 4K HDR modes fit your needs.
- Consider the Reno15c for faster stated charging and explicit IP ratings if 80W charging or its listed IP66/IP68/IP69 ratings are important to you.
- Compare actual India configurations and current prices before choosing: the Redmi page lists variant options with regional/package variation, and its official page does not provide a price.
There is no evidence here for a definitive overall winner: the better fit depends on which display, camera, battery, durability and software attributes matter to you, plus the verified price of the precise SKU available to you.
