For India-market buyers, the OPPO K14x is the stronger on-paper choice for faster charging and a higher-resolution main camera, while the Xiaomi Redmi A7 Pro 5G offers a larger screen and a stated longer software-support schedule. A third-party page showed the Redmi ₹2,000 cheaper at the time it was accessed, but that snapshot is not a guaranteed current price. What the spec differences mean
Display: Redmi is larger, but both are HD+
The Redmi’s 6.9-inch display is larger than the K14x’s 6.75-inch display. Both are HD+ class, and both manufacturers list refresh rates up to 120Hz. A 120Hz maximum does not mean the display is always running at that rate, and neither specification supports describing these screens as Full HD.
Battery and charging: OPPO has the higher rated capacity and charging ceiling
OPPO lists a 6500mAh typical battery and 45W charging; Xiaomi lists 6300mAh typical and 15W maximum charging. Those figures favor the K14x for charging capability, but battery capacity and charging wattage alone do not determine real-world endurance or charging time. OPPO reports measured results of up to 17.6 hours of YouTube playback and 16.1 hours of Google Maps navigation; these are manufacturer test figures, and OPPO says actual results vary with conditions and use. Cameras: more megapixels do not settle photo quality
The K14x lists a 50MP rear camera, compared with the Redmi’s 32MP rear camera and 8MP front camera. Megapixel counts describe resolution, not overall image quality; without independent comparative testing, they are not enough to declare a camera winner.
Performance: the listed processor details are not a speed test
OPPO names the Dimensity 6300, while Xiaomi specifies the Redmi’s T8300 core configuration. Chipset names and clock speeds alone do not establish which phone performs better across apps, games, heat management, or battery use. No comparative benchmark or hands-on test is established here.

Software support: Xiaomi states a duration; OPPO’s cited announcement does not
Xiaomi says the Redmi A7 Pro 5G gets four years of Android updates and six years of security updates. OPPO’s cited K14x announcement identifies ColorOS 15 but does not give a support duration, so the available statements do not show equivalent support periods.
Durability: check OPPO’s conflicting IP ratings
The OPPO launch announcement gives an IP64 rating, but the OPPO specifications page footnote gives IP54. Xiaomi lists IP52 for the Redmi. Because OPPO’s published figures conflict, verify the exact handset variant and its current official specification before relying on a rating. None of these ratings means a phone is waterproof.

Which phone should you buy?
- Choose the OPPO K14x if faster supported charging and a higher rear-camera megapixel count matter more to you, and you are comfortable verifying its exact IP rating and comparing current prices.
- Choose the Redmi A7 Pro 5G if you prefer the larger display or place greater weight on Xiaomi’s stated four-year Android and six-year security update periods.
- Compare both carefully if processor speed, camera results, or dependable battery life is your deciding factor; the listed specifications do not establish a comparative winner for those outcomes.
