The OPPO K14x 5G and vivo Y21 5G share the same headline platform: both list a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, a 6,500 mAh typical-capacity battery and an HD+ LCD with a refresh rate up to 120 Hz. Their charging specifications are nearly identical too. The meaningful differences are software, camera configuration and published ingress ratings—and there is not enough verified, matching price information to state a reliable price gap.

Specifications are from OPPO India’s 2 February 2026 launch release, its K14x product specifications, vivo India’s Y21 5G specifications and the vivo India e-store listing. Manufacturer specifications do not establish how the phones perform in independent, matched tests.
Is there a reliable price difference?
Not from the available official listings. The vivo e-store shows ₹32,999 for one selected Y21 5G configuration, 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, but marks it unavailable. The cited OPPO India launch and product pages do not state a K14x price. Without current prices for available phones with matching RAM and storage, subtracting one figure from another would not give a fair comparison.
Compare the same RAM/storage configuration at the same retailer on the same day, and check the final checkout price and availability. A third-party comparison result has shown different prices, but those figures are not verified against currently available matching variants and should not be treated as a current price gap.

Performance: same named chipset, no proven winner
Both brands list the Dimensity 6300. That gives the phones the same headline processor, but it does not prove identical day-to-day speed: memory configuration, software and thermal behavior can also affect use. The cited material does not provide matched independent benchmark results, so neither phone can be called faster on this evidence alone.
Display: nearly the same size and refresh rate
Both use an LCD around 6.7 inches, with HD+ resolution and a refresh rate up to 120 Hz. OPPO lists a 6.75-inch panel and peak brightness up to 1,125 nits; vivo lists a 6.74-inch, 1600 × 720 panel and advertises up to 1,200 nits. The brightness figures come from separate manufacturer materials, and their measurement methods are not established as comparable. They do not by themselves show which screen will look brighter in ordinary use.

Battery and charging: close on paper
Each phone is listed with a 6,500 mAh typical-capacity battery. Their rated capacities differ slightly: OPPO states 6,335 mAh and vivo 6,355 mAh. OPPO specifies 45 W charging against vivo’s 44 W, a one-watt difference in the listed maximums. These figures do not establish which phone lasts longer or charges faster in real use; OPPO notes that its battery and performance results come from lab testing and that actual results vary with environment and usage.
Cameras: compare the configuration, not just megapixels
OPPO emphasizes a 50 MP rear camera and announced AI tools including Eraser, Reflection Remover, Best Shot and Unblur. vivo lists a 50 MP main rear camera alongside a 0.08 MP sensor, plus a 5 MP front camera, and also promotes AI camera features. The published specifications do not establish comparative photo quality. If selfies or low-light photos matter, look for sample images from both exact models rather than treating the number of megapixels or software feature names as a quality ranking.

Water and dust resistance: vivo’s rating is clearer in the cited specs
vivo publishes an IP65 rating under IEC 60529-2013 and cautions that resistance may decrease through daily use. OPPO’s India launch release says IP64, while a footnote on its product specifications says IP54. Because those OPPO materials conflict, confirm the rating on the exact K14x unit’s retail box or current official specification before relying on it. IP ratings do not mean a phone is waterproof.
Software and updates
OPPO’s launch release lists ColorOS 15. vivo lists Android 16 with OriginOS 6. Which interface you prefer is a personal choice; the cited specifications do not establish comparable software-support durations, so check each brand’s current update policy for the exact model before buying if update longevity is a priority.

Which phone should you choose?
- Choose based on price only after matching variants: the available official price evidence does not support a dependable price-gap calculation.
- For charging: the published 45 W OPPO and 44 W vivo ratings are effectively close; independent charging tests are not provided here.
- For ingress protection: vivo’s stated IP65 rating is clearer than OPPO’s conflicting IP64 and IP54 claims. Verify the K14x unit before comparing it on this point.
- For software: compare ColorOS 15 with OriginOS 6 on the phones themselves if possible, and check the brands’ current update commitments.
- For camera choice: compare real images and confirm the front-camera specification that matters to you; published megapixels alone cannot establish a winner.
On the headline specs, these are close competitors rather than an obvious overall win for either brand. The better buy depends on the live price of the same memory variant, your preferred software and which unresolved or untested differences matter most to you.
