Neither phone is a clear overall winner. The OPPO K13 5G (model CPH2729) leads on display technology, selfie resolution, listed peak wired charging, weight and water-ingress rating. The Xiaomi Redmi 15 5G leads on screen size, maximum refresh rate, reverse charging and the length of its security-update commitment. Every figure below comes from the manufacturers’ own India specification pages and launch announcements. No controlled head-to-head testing is established here, so the right choice depends on which of these trade-offs matters to you. The price difference cannot be stated from verified current data, as explained in the pricing section.

Which models are being compared

This comparison covers the India-market OPPO K13 5G (model CPH2729) and the India-market Xiaomi Redmi 15 5G. The “5G” suffix matters. Redmi also sells a Redmi 15 4G, which has different connectivity and should not be treated as the same phone. Regional Redmi 15 variants can also differ from the India model, so check that the listing you are reading names India and 5G.

Side-by-side specifications

The table below lists the values from each manufacturer’s India specification page, with the source of each claim noted where it differs.

Who should pick which phone

  • Pick the OPPO K13 5G if you care most about screen contrast and colour from an AMOLED panel, want the front camera with the higher listed resolution, or plan to use fast wired charging and want the lighter body.
  • Pick the Redmi 15 5G if you want the bigger 6.9-inch screen, the higher refresh ceiling for smooth scrolling, reverse charging to top up another device, or the longer four-year security-update commitment.
  • Consider the memory configuration before choosing on price. OPPO’s base model starts at 8GB of RAM, while Redmi offers a 6GB variant at 128GB storage.

Display: AMOLED against a larger, faster LCD

The K13 uses a rigid AMOLED panel. AMOLED generally delivers deeper blacks and higher contrast than LCD, which is the main reason to prefer it. The Redmi 15 5G uses an LCD panel that is 0.23 inches larger and can refresh up to 144Hz, compared with 120Hz on the K13. The difference in maximum refresh rate is a specification difference; whether you notice it depends on the content and apps you use. Redmi’s 850 nits is listed as peak brightness, while OPPO’s 1200 nits is a typical high-brightness mode (HBM) figure. These measurement conditions are not the same, so the two numbers should not be read as a direct brightness ranking.

Performance and chipsets

OPPO names the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 in its April 2025 launch announcement and cites an AnTuTu score of 790,000. Xiaomi lists the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, with two Cortex-A78 cores at up to 2.3GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at up to 1.95GHz. Both figures are vendor-published. The AnTuTu score is OPPO’s own launch claim, not an independent comparison, and benchmark numbers on comparison websites vary by test setup and should not be treated as verified. The chip names tell you what hardware each phone uses, but they do not establish real-world speed or gaming performance. Judging that requires testing both phones under the same conditions, which has not been done here.

Battery and charging

Both phones list a 7000mAh typical battery capacity. OPPO also gives a 6820mAh rated figure, which is the lower number and the one that reflects a more conservative rating. Typical and rated figures are measured differently, so they should not be added or compared directly.

Charging is where the two phones diverge most. OPPO’s 80W SUPERVOOC is the highest wired wattage listed for either phone. Its April 2025 launch release claims 62% charge in 30 minutes; that is an OPPO claim under test conditions it describes, not a guarantee for every charger or temperature. Xiaomi’s 33W wired charging is slower on paper, but it ships with a 33W adapter in the box and adds 18W reverse charging, which lets the phone power accessories such as earbuds or a second phone. OPPO’s spec page does not list reverse charging.

Xiaomi’s product page also promotes “80% Battery after 4+ Years.” This is a manufacturer product-page claim about long-term battery health, not independent evidence. Neither company’s runtime claims have been verified side by side for this comparison.

  • 158.1 x 75 x 7.7 mm (6.22 x 2.95 x 0.30 in)

Cameras

Both phones use a 50MP main rear camera, so megapixel count does not separate them. OPPO adds a 2MP monochrome sensor and lists rear recording at 4K/30fps. Xiaomi lists AI Sky and AI Erase editing features. OPPO’s front camera at 16MP has twice the resolution of Xiaomi’s 8MP selfie camera on paper, but resolution alone does not determine image quality, and no comparative image samples or controlled camera tests were available for this article.

Build, weight and water resistance

The K13 weighs about 208g according to OPPO’s specification page, against 217g for the Redmi 15 5G, so the K13 is about 9g lighter by the listed figures. OPPO’s launch announcement gives IP65 and Xiaomi lists IP64. Both are ingress-protection ratings for dust and water resistance under specified test conditions. They do not mean either phone is protected against every water or dust scenario, and they do not cover accidental drops. OPPO also lists a protective case in the box.

Software and update commitments

The K13 runs ColorOS 15.0 on an Android 15 base, with OPPO committing to two years of OS updates and three years of security updates in its launch announcement. The Redmi 15 5G runs HyperOS 2 on Android 15, with Xiaomi committing to two years of OS updates and four years of security updates on its specification page. If long-term security patches are a priority, the Redmi’s extra year is the clearest software difference between the two.

OPPO announced sale from April 25, 2025, and described a one-day launch offer and an exchange offer. Those offers are historical and have expired. These are launch prices, not today’s prices. Because the Xiaomi pages checked on October 7, 2026 did not establish an India price for the Redmi 15 5G, no price difference can be calculated from official sources.

To work out a current price difference, use live listings and follow these steps:

  1. Choose the same RAM and storage configuration for both phones. The Redmi has a 6GB+128GB option that the K13 does not, so compare 8GB+128GB against the Redmi’s 8GB+128GB variant if it is available.
  2. Check the price on the same day for both phones on the same retailer, or note the retailer and time for each listing.
  3. Record the price before any bank, card or exchange discount, then record the discount separately so the two figures can be compared.
  4. Subtract the lower price from the higher to get the difference, and write the date you checked it next to the figure.

OPPO’s launch announcement named the OPPO e-store and Flipkart as launch purchase channels. That does not confirm current stock or price at either retailer.

Verdict for buyers

Choose the OPPO K13 5G if the AMOLED screen, faster wired charging, higher selfie resolution and lighter weight matter most. Choose the Xiaomi Redmi 15 5G if you prefer a larger screen with a higher refresh ceiling, reverse charging, a longer security-update period or a lower-RAM base option. Before deciding on price, confirm current prices for matching configurations, because the only verified prices for either phone are OPPO’s 2025 launch prices.
