The onn. 42-inch 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos Soundbar System (model 100135495 / SB2486) is a dialogue-oriented option with a full set of surround components: the bar, two wireless satellite speakers and a wireless subwoofer. This is the onn. 42-inch 5.1.2 Surround Soundbar System, model 100135495 / SB2486. Check the model number on the retailer listing or unit before buying: similar onn. product names and different revisions can make specifications easy to mix up. The manufacturer’s manual identifies this system and its features in the SB2486 product manual.
What comes with the system?
The manual describes six speakers inside the soundbar, two wireless satellite speakers and one wireless subwoofer. The satellites and subwoofer connect wirelessly for audio, but still need power connections, so plan for outlets near where you place them.

The manual lists Dolby Atmos support, along with DTS:X and DTS Virtual:X. That does not mean every connection or TV setup will deliver Atmos: the manual specifically calls for HDMI-CEC and eARC. Confirm that your TV supports eARC and HDMI-CEC, and connect the bar to the TV’s eARC port with those settings enabled. A TV with only ARC or an optical connection may still provide audio, but the manual’s Atmos requirement is eARC and HDMI-CEC.

The system also has an HDMI input, optical input, AUX, USB and Bluetooth playback. Those options give you alternatives for connecting sources or playing audio, but they do not replace the stated eARC setup for Atmos from a compatible TV.
How does it sound?
Consumer Reports describes the model’s overall sound quality as fair. Its public summary also notes that the soundbar has shortcomings for music, while those shortcomings do not rule it out for dialogue. That makes it a more defensible choice for TV speech than for buyers seeking a music-focused system. What do the power and installation specifications tell you?
The manual states 250 W RMS and 1000 W peak output. These are manufacturer-listed specifications, not independently verified measurements, and the manual revision should be checked against the unit because the retrieved document record is dated approximately 2024. Power figures alone do not establish perceived loudness or sound quality.
The manual includes wall-mounting guidance and indicates an HDMI cable is included. Check the exact listing and revision for included accessories before installation. If mounting the bar, verify that the hardware and wall type are appropriate; do not assume an unverified third-party mount is compatible.

Who should consider it?
- Consider it if you want a soundbar system with satellites and a separate subwoofer, and your priority is TV dialogue rather than strong music performance.
- Check your setup first if Dolby Atmos is essential: confirm TV eARC and HDMI-CEC support and the correct port and settings.
- Look at alternatives if music quality is a major priority, or if you cannot conveniently power and place the rear speakers and subwoofer.

The exact 42-inch model’s current price, stock and return terms are not established here. A surfaced Walmart listing is for a different 36-inch onn. system, not this model, so its price should not be used to judge the SB2486.
