In India, the OnePlus Nord CE5 5G leads on stated battery capacity, charging speed and display refresh rate; the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G offers a longer stated Android-upgrade commitment, expandable storage and an IP54 rating. Samsung’s announced launch prices were lower than OnePlus’s listed starting price, but compare current prices for the same storage configuration before buying. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance, camera or battery tests.
India price difference: compare the same storage tier
OnePlus India lists the Nord CE5 from ₹24,999. Samsung India announced these Galaxy A17 5G launch prices in 2025:

The Samsung figures are launch prices, not a guarantee of current pricing. Samsung’s India buy page displayed a limited-period “lowest price ever” offer of ₹22,499 when accessed for this comparison; the offer and its applicable variant may change, so verify the listing before purchase. It is not a like-for-like price comparison with the Nord’s starting configuration. Check current seller prices for matching RAM and storage options.
Samsung’s newsroom announcement dated 3 September 2025 said sales began that day through Samsung retail, Samsung Exclusive Stores, Samsung.com and other online sellers. A separate Samsung product specification page gives a 15 December 2025 launch date for its 6GB product page; that SKU-specific field is distinct from the dated newsroom announcement. Which phone fits your priorities?
Choose the Nord CE5 if battery and charging specs matter most
Its listed 7,100mAh battery and 80W charging rate are higher than the A17’s stated 5,000mAh and 25W. The Nord also specifies a 120Hz display and 4K/60fps recording. These figures favor the Nord on paper, but they do not establish real-world battery life, charging time or camera quality.

Consider the Galaxy A17 for support, expandable storage or IP54
Samsung states six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates. Its listed IP54 rating, front Gorilla Glass Victus and microSD expansion up to 2TB may also matter if you want those stated features. IP54 does not mean the phone is suitable for submersion or water activities.
What the specifications cannot tell you
The listed chipset models do not establish which phone is faster in everyday use or games; no comparable benchmark results are available. Likewise, camera megapixels, optical image stabilization and video modes do not establish which phone produces better photos, and battery capacity does not determine endurance by itself. The cited manufacturer material supplies specifications and commitments rather than independent comparative testing.
