On the official India product pages as of 7 October 2026, the OnePlus Nord CE 5 and the Samsung Galaxy M47 5G are close on paper. Both offer a 120 Hz AMOLED-family display, both have a 50 MP main rear camera with optical image stabilisation, and both are sold in multiple memory and storage configurations. The OnePlus has the larger stated battery (7,100 mAh against 6,000 mAh typical for the Samsung), and Samsung publishes a specific software support commitment that OnePlus’s India page did not state in comparable terms. The one price figure we can attribute to an official page is OnePlus’s “from ₹24,999” for the Nord CE 5. We could not establish a current Samsung India selling price, so no exact price difference can be stated yet. No independent head-to-head benchmark, camera, or battery test results were available for this comparison.
Which OnePlus model this comparison covers
The title says “OnePlus Nord CE 5 5G,” but OnePlus’s current India product page names the phone “OnePlus Nord CE 5.” OnePlus also has a separate page for an older phone called the “Nord CE 5G,” and the two are different devices. The older model lists a Snapdragon 750G processor, a 6.43-inch 90 Hz Fluid AMOLED display, and a 4,500 mAh battery. The Nord CE 5 lists a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Apex, a 6.77-inch 120 Hz AMOLED display, and a 7,100 mAh battery. Specifications from one should never be attributed to the other, so this article uses the current name and the current specifications throughout.

The table below uses only the values published on each manufacturer’s India page. Where a page does not state a figure, the table says so rather than filling the gap from another source.

Display and battery: what the numbers do and do not show
Both phones advertise a 120 Hz refresh rate on an AMOLED-family panel, so they should both scroll and animate smoothly on paper. The OnePlus screen is physically larger at 6.77 inches, compared with about 6.66 inches for the Samsung on Samsung’s own measurement. Samsung also notes that the viewable area is smaller once the rounded corners are excluded, so the two figures are not measured the same way and should not be subtracted from each other.
The battery gap is the clearest hardware difference on the spec sheets: 7,100 mAh for the OnePlus against 6,000 mAh typical for the Samsung. Capacity is not runtime, though. Screen brightness, processor load, network signal, and camera and gaming use all change how long a battery lasts. Neither manufacturer’s page, as reviewed, gives a tested endurance result, so the capacity difference suggests a possible advantage for the OnePlus rather than proving one.

Charging is where the evidence is least balanced. Samsung lists 45 W fast charging and states that the charger is sold separately, so you should budget for one if you do not already own a compatible charger. OnePlus promotes fast charging but the page reviewed does not state a wattage, and it should not be assumed from the phone’s naming or from other OnePlus models.
Cameras: hardware listed, image quality not tested
The OnePlus lists a 50 MP Sony main sensor with optical image stabilisation and an 8 MP ultra-wide lens. The Samsung lists three rear lenses at 50 MP, 5 MP and 2 MP, with optical image stabilisation. The number of lenses on a spec sheet does not tell you how well each one captures light, handles colour, or manages noise in dim scenes. Likewise, the 12 MP front camera on the Samsung has no equivalent figure on the OnePlus page reviewed, so a direct front-camera comparison is not possible from official specifications alone.

For video, OnePlus promotes 4K at 60 fps, while Samsung lists 4K at 30 fps on its 8 GB / 128 GB configuration. These are the maximum settings each brand advertises, not measured output, and frame-rate support can vary by camera mode.
Software support: the clearest published commitment
Samsung’s India product information for the Galaxy M47 5G states: “Galaxy M47 5G will be supported with six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates from the first global launch date.” The security support period is listed through 31 July 2032. Samsung adds that its policies are subject to change, so check the current Samsung support page before relying on those dates for a purchase decision.

OnePlus’s India page for the Nord CE 5 did not state a comparable duration in the material we reviewed. Until OnePlus’s exact-model policy for the Nord CE 5 is confirmed, the software support comparison should be treated as incomplete, not as a Samsung win.
Price difference: what is and is not established
OnePlus lists the Nord CE 5 from ₹24,999 on its India page. Samsung’s official Galaxy M47 5G page lists the configurations and specifications, but the official text available does not show a current selling price, so we cannot state a rupee difference between the two phones. Any price gap calculated from older launch prices, third-party snippets, or mismatched memory and storage configurations would be unreliable.

Prices in India change often and include discounts, bank offers, exchange values, and seller-specific deals. To make a valid comparison on the day you read this:
- Choose one memory and storage configuration for each phone, such as 8 GB / 128 GB on both if available, and compare only those.
- Open the OnePlus India store and the Samsung India store, and record the price for that configuration on the same date.
- Label each figure as a launch price, an official store price, or a marketplace or seller offer. These are not interchangeable.
- Note bank offers, exchange values, and any charger inclusion separately, because a discounted headline price can come with conditions that change the real cost.
Choosing between them
Use official specifications to narrow the choice, then let the following factors decide:
- Battery capacity: the OnePlus has the larger stated battery, which matters most if you use the phone heavily and expect to rely on capacity rather than charging speed.
- Software support length: Samsung’s six-generation and six-year commitment is the only comparable policy stated on these pages, so it matters most if you plan to keep the phone for several years.
- Charging and charger: Samsung’s 45 W figure is published, but the OnePlus wattage is not, and the Samsung charger is not included.
- Storage expansion: the Samsung page lists microSD support up to 2 TB on one configuration, which is useful if you rely on removable storage.
- Price on the day: only buy after comparing the same configuration on the same date, because the value of either phone depends on its current price.
Independent reviews, side-by-side camera samples, and endurance tests were not part of the official information used here. Check those before drawing conclusions about performance or photo quality.
