Nord 5: higher refresh rate and Snapdragon platform
The Nord 5 combines Snapdragon 8-series silicon, identified as Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 in the 91mobiles comparison, with a 144 Hz AMOLED display. That makes it the more compelling specification choice for people who value a higher display refresh rate or want the Snapdragon option. A higher refresh rate can make supported motion look smoother, but it does not by itself establish gaming performance or everyday speed.

Nord CE5: Dimensity 8350 Apex and 120 Hz AMOLED
The CE5 uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 8350 Apex and has a 120 Hz AMOLED display. The lower refresh-rate specification does not mean the display is poor; it is simply below the Nord 5’s stated maximum. Neither chipset name nor refresh-rate figure proves how well a phone sustains demanding workloads. OnePlus’s benchmark material is based on laboratory claims under stated conditions, not independent evidence of real-world superiority.
Camera specifications: Nord 5 has the higher-resolution selfie camera
OnePlus lists a 50 MP front camera for Nord 5, while 91mobiles lists a 16 MP front camera for CE5. The third-party comparison lists a 50 MP main rear camera and an 8 MP ultra-wide rear camera on both phones. If selfies or video calls are a priority, the Nord 5 has the higher-resolution front-camera specification.
Megapixels alone do not determine photo quality. Sensor characteristics, lens, image processing, lighting and video features also matter, and the cited specifications do not establish which phone takes better-looking photos in practice.
Battery capacity and charging
OnePlus’s India pages state a 6,800 mAh battery for Nord 5 and a 7,100 mAh battery for CE5; both list 80 W charging. The CE5 therefore has the larger stated capacity, but capacity is not a direct measure of how long a phone lasts between charges. OnePlus notes that usage and environmental factors affect battery life.

Software support and launch dates
For both India models, OnePlus states eligibility for four Android OS version updates and six years of security updates via OTA. Confirm that commitment for the specific device variant and region you are considering.
The dates reported for the phones can appear inconsistent because they refer to different milestones. OnePlus advertised an India launch event for July 8, 2025; 91mobiles lists July 9 and July 12, 2025 as individual product launch dates. An event date and reported product launch or availability dates are not necessarily the same thing.
