The OnePlus 16 is an upcoming phone with a reported flat display and very narrow bezels on all four sides, but OnePlus has not published their measurements. Claims of sub-1 mm bezels and an 185 Hz refresh rate remain reports about engineering samples, not confirmed specifications. The OnePlus 15 provides the firm comparison point: OnePlus lists approximately 1.15 mm bezels on every side.
What is confirmed about the OnePlus 16’s bezels?
OnePlus has an official OnePlus 16 page in China where the phone can be reserved. It is an upcoming product, but the page does not yet publish a complete specification table or a numeric bezel measurement.
A September 22, 2026 report says OnePlus China president Li Jie Louis described the OnePlus 16 as having extremely narrow bezels on all four sides, a flat screen and rounded corners intended to feel comfortable in the hand. How thin could the bezels be?
A June 16, 2026 report citing Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station says engineering samples were being tested with sub-1 mm bezels and an 185 Hz refresh rate. These are leak claims about testing, not final retail specifications. Until OnePlus publishes the figures, it is not accurate to say the OnePlus 16 definitely has sub-1 mm bezels or an 185 Hz screen. A separate report describes a 6.78-inch flat display and an October 2026 China launch target, while suggesting Europe and the United States may be excluded. The screen size and timing are reported expectations, not official specifications or a final global launch plan. GSMArena’s report
How does the OnePlus 16 compare with the OnePlus 15?
The OnePlus 15 is the useful verified baseline. Its official product page lists approximately 1.15 mm bezels on every side and a 95.5% screen-to-body ratio. OnePlus also says bezel area is reduced by up to 42% versus the OnePlus 13. OnePlus’s “up to 42%” figure refers to reduced bezel area versus the OnePlus 13, not a confirmed OnePlus 16 improvement. The OnePlus 16 cannot yet be said to beat the OnePlus 15 on measured bezel width or screen-to-body ratio.
Would sub-1 mm bezels make a visible difference?
They could make the display occupy more of the phone’s front and give the border a more uniform appearance, particularly if the bezels are equally narrow on all four sides. But the real-world difference cannot be judged from a leaked number alone. Panel size, screen-to-body ratio, corner shape and how the phone handles touch near its edges all affect the experience. No independent visibility or user-perception test specific to the OnePlus 16 is established here.

For a useful comparison with rival flagships, look for published bezel measurements taken using comparable methods, screen-to-body ratio, display size and resolution, refresh-rate behavior, and reports on grip and accidental touches. A claimed 185 Hz maximum, if confirmed, would also need context about supported modes and power use; the leak alone does not establish either.

OnePlus has a China reservation page, but that does not establish availability in other regions. The report suggesting Europe and the United States may be excluded is an expectation, not an official regional launch announcement. Buyers outside China should wait for OnePlus to confirm local availability, pricing, warranty coverage and support rather than treating a China reservation or launch target as a global release.
