OnePlus has announced a China launch for the OnePlus 16 on October 12, 2026, and its China website is already accepting reservations. Reports describe a 165Hz BOE display with a 185Hz gaming mode, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, and high-resolution cameras. Battery, charging, colors, and configurations have also been reported, but those details should not all be treated as final official specifications.

When and where is the OnePlus 16 launching?

OnePlus announced an October 12, 2026 launch in China, according to Gadgets360 and Android Authority. That date is still in the future as of October 3, 2026. The reports do not give a global launch date, so availability in India or other markets remains unconfirmed in these sources.

OnePlus’s official China product page identifies the OnePlus 16 and directs customers to OPPO Mall for reservations and official services. Its reservation offers are China-market promotions, not evidence of pricing or offers elsewhere.

What display and gaming features have been announced?

Gadgets360 reports that the OnePlus 16 uses a BOE-developed X4 panel with a 165Hz refresh rate and offers a 185Hz mode for gaming. These figures describe different operating conditions: 165Hz is the reported panel refresh rate, while 185Hz is a gaming mode, not a promise that every app or game will run at that rate.

The same report says native 185fps support is limited to a short list of supported games. Android Authority also reports custom touch and Wi-Fi chips among the gaming features OnePlus discussed. The reports do not establish that every game benefits equally from these features.

Which processor and cameras are reported?

Android Authority reports that OnePlus named the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor and described its GPU Matrix Cores. The outlet also attributes the following camera details to information shared ahead of launch:

  • 200MP main camera with a reported 1/1.4-inch sensor
  • 50MP 3x telephoto camera, identified as an IMX882
  • 50MP ultrawide camera

Android Authority also mentions XPAN-style and Master camera modes. Treat the camera hardware and modes as reported details until confirmed in final launch materials.

What battery and charging details have surfaced?

Android Authority’s September 18 report attributes a 9,000mAh battery, 100W wired charging, and 50W wireless charging to certification and leaker Digital Chat Station. These are not confirmed here as final official specifications; verify them against OnePlus’s launch materials before relying on them.

What colors and storage configurations are reported for China?

Beebom Gadgets reports three China reservation colors and four memory and storage combinations. Its report also describes a square metal camera surround, rounded corners, an AI key, and a rear lighting effect on the Tomorrow Starlight version.

Reported China option Details

Memory and storage 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, 16GB+512GB, 16GB+1TB

These names and configurations are reported by Beebom Gadgets; check OnePlus’s final China listings for confirmation.

What does the China reservation offer?

The official China page displays a 0.01 yuan reservation amount and promotional benefits of gifts valued up to 3,112 yuan, points deductions up to 200 yuan, and a trade-in subsidy up to 1,400 yuan. These are China-market promotional terms shown on OnePlus’s page and may change; they do not establish the phone’s retail price or offers in other countries.

What remains unconfirmed?

  • Price and availability outside China: the cited reports provide no global launch date or overseas pricing.
  • Final specifications: the battery, charging, camera, color, and configuration details above are reported or attributed to leak and certification coverage rather than all being confirmed on the official page.
  • Software: Gadgets360 reported ColorOS 17 based on Android 17, but that claim is not established by the official page cited here.
