The OnePlus 15R is the stronger specification fit if you prioritize its Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, 165 Hz display and 7,400 mAh battery. The vivo V70 is worth considering for its dedicated 3× optical telephoto camera, smaller screen and 90 W charging. These are comparisons of listed features, not independent test results.

Performance: the 15R has the higher-tier chipset specification
OnePlus specifies the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 for the 15R, while vivo lists the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 for the V70. That makes the 15R the more performance-focused choice on paper, but chipset names do not tell you how either phone performs in sustained gaming, everyday use or heat management. No comparable independent benchmark or long-session test is established here.
Display: choose between size and refresh rate
The 15R is listed with a 1.5K display running at up to 165 Hz, and the comparison listing places it in the 6.83-inch class. The V70 has a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with 2750 × 1260 resolution and a maximum 120 Hz refresh rate. Pick the 15R if a larger screen and higher stated refresh rate matter most; consider the V70 if you prefer a smaller display.

vivo lists 5,000 nits of local peak brightness for the V70. Because this figure depends on lab and trigger conditions, it should not be read as the brightness the entire screen routinely sustains.

Battery and charging: capacity is not a runtime test
OnePlus lists a 7,400 mAh battery and 80 W SUPERVOOC charging for the 15R. vivo lists 6,500 mAh typical capacity and 90 W charging for the V70. The 15R has the larger stated capacity; the V70 has the higher rated charging wattage. Neither comparison predicts which lasts longer or charges faster in practice without testing under comparable conditions.
Cameras: the V70 adds a dedicated 3× telephoto lens
The V70’s rear setup includes a 50 MP OIS main camera, a 50 MP telephoto camera with 3× optical zoom, and an 8 MP ultra-wide. vivo describes the system as co-engineered with ZEISS and calls the telephoto camera a “50 MP ZEISS Night Telephoto Camera”; that is the manufacturer’s product claim, not an independent finding.

OnePlus lists a 50 MP Sony IMX906 OIS main camera and an 8 MP ultra-wide for the 15R. It also advertises 4K 120 fps video and lists a 32 MP autofocus front camera; vivo lists a 50 MP front camera. The V70 has the more explicit long-range camera hardware, but megapixel counts and lens lists cannot establish a blanket photo or video-quality winner.
Durability: treat IP ratings as test-based protection
vivo lists IP68/IP69 protection for the V70, while OnePlus advertises broad IP ratings for the 15R. Check each phone’s regional product-page disclaimers for the exact rating and conditions. An IP rating describes performance under specified tests; it is not a guarantee against water damage in every situation, and neither phone should be treated as suitable for intentional immersion.

Price difference in India
The vivo India store displayed the V70 at ₹64,999, with an MRP of ₹75,999, when accessed for this comparison. The listing showed 8 GB + 256 GB and 12 GB + 256 GB variants. Treat ₹64,999 as a store price observed at access time, not a permanent price.
A dependable OnePlus 15R price from the same date and storage tier is not established, so an exact current price difference cannot be stated. An older comparison listing showed ₹54,999 for the 15R and ₹49,999 for the V70, but it was crawled months before the store listing and conflicts with vivo’s displayed price. Promotions, bank offers, exchange discounts, stock and storage variant can all affect what a buyer pays. Compare live listings for the same storage tier before deciding on value.
Which phone should you buy?
Choose the OnePlus 15R if
- You prioritize the higher-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 specification.
- You want the larger, up-to-165 Hz display specification.
- You value its higher listed battery capacity.
Consider the vivo V70 if
