The OnePlus 15R is the stronger-on-paper pick for a large, high-refresh display, a higher-tier listed processor and greater battery capacity. The India-market OPPO Reno16 5G is smaller and includes a dedicated telephoto camera. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance, battery-life or camera-test results. There is no reliable price-difference figure without matching current prices for the same country and storage configuration.
First, make sure you are comparing the right Reno16
OPPO says Reno16 models and specifications vary by market. Its India product page identifies the Reno16 5G as model CPH2865 and lists the Reno16c 5G separately as CPH2859. The specifications below are for the India Reno16 5G, not the Reno16c or an unspecified regional variant. OPPO India Reno16 5G specifications and details and OPPO India market information.
OnePlus specifications also vary by region, most notably for charging. Where a figure applies only to a particular regional product page, that market is named below.

Which phone has the better display and performance specifications?
OnePlus 15R: bigger screen and higher listed refresh rate
The OnePlus 15R has the larger display at 6.83 inches, and the Canada specifications list adaptive refresh rates up to 165Hz. That makes it the more compelling spec-sheet choice if you want more screen area or prioritize a higher refresh-rate ceiling. The listed refresh rate alone does not establish how smooth a particular app will feel.
OPPO Reno16: smaller display, lower listed refresh ceiling
The India Reno16 5G has an approximately 6.3-inch AMOLED display with a maximum 120Hz refresh rate. Its smaller size may suit someone who prefers a less expansive phone. The published specifications do not establish comparative brightness, color accuracy or outdoor readability.
Processor tiers are not benchmark results
OnePlus lists the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, while OPPO India lists the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. Those model names position the 15R as the higher-tier chipset on paper, but they are not a measured comparison of gaming performance, sustained speed or heat. No comparable benchmark results are established here.

How do battery capacity and charging compare?
The OnePlus 15R’s listed typical battery capacity is 7,400mAh; OPPO India lists 6,700mAh typical for the Reno16 5G. The OnePlus figure is higher, but capacity alone cannot tell you which phone lasts longer in real use. Screen settings, network conditions, software and workload all affect endurance, and no comparative battery test is available here.
Charging is especially important to check against the exact regional model. OnePlus lists 55W SUPERVOOC on its Canada specification page and 80W on its Czech page. OPPO India lists up to 80W SUPERVOOC for the Reno16 5G. These figures do not prove that every local version or retail box has the same charging capability or includes an adapter; confirm those details with the local listing.
Which phone has the better camera setup?
The clearest hardware distinction is the OPPO’s dedicated telephoto camera: OPPO India lists 50MP main, 50MP telephoto and 50MP ultra-wide rear cameras, plus a 50MP front camera. The OnePlus US product page lists a 50MP Sony IMX906 main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide and a 32MP front camera.

- 163.4 x 77 x 8.1 mm or 8.3 mm
That gives the Reno16 a stated telephoto option absent from the cited OnePlus camera specifications, while the OnePlus main camera specification explicitly names OIS. Megapixel counts and camera components do not establish which phone takes better photos or video; no comparative camera testing is available to support an overall image-quality winner.
What is the price difference?
A like-for-like price gap cannot be calculated from the available official listings: no matching current OnePlus 15R price and storage configuration was established. OPPO also warns that Reno16 pricing and availability vary by market, so an India price should not be compared with a OnePlus price from another country as if the figures were equivalent. OPPO India Reno16 pricing and market details and OPPO newsroom market guidance.
For India, OPPO’s product details state prices as of 31 August 2026 of ₹66,999 for 8GB+256GB and ₹72,999 for 12GB+256GB, including tax, and say prices may change. OPPO’s 2 July 2026 launch announcement gave earlier launch prices of ₹61,999 and ₹67,999 for those configurations. The later dated product-detail figures are the more recent reference here; neither should be treated as a current price outside India. To work out a useful difference, compare local prices checked on the same date for the same country, equivalent storage, tax treatment and sale conditions. Without a verified OnePlus listing on that basis, any numeric gap would be misleading.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose the OnePlus 15R based on these specifications if you want the larger display, a higher listed refresh-rate ceiling, the higher-tier listed chipset or greater stated battery capacity.
- Consider the India OPPO Reno16 5G if a smaller display and a listed 50MP telephoto camera better fit your priorities.
- Check local listings before deciding if price, charging speed or included accessories will determine your choice: regional model specifications and availability differ.
These are specification-based trade-offs, not a verdict on real-world speed, battery life or camera quality.
