Short answer: the OnePlus 15 is the specification-led choice for a 7,300mAh battery, 80W wired charging in the US and Canada, a 165Hz-capable gaming display and a 3.5x optical periscope camera. The Google Pixel 11 is the longevity and computational-photography choice, with Google’s published seven years of operating-system, security and Pixel Drop updates, a 5x optical telephoto and named tools such as Night Sight, Camera Coach and Magic Eraser.
Neither phone can be declared the better camera from the published specifications alone. The figures below are manufacturer claims, not controlled battery tests, benchmark results or matched photo samples. Your best buy depends on whether you value hardware capacity and charging speed, Google’s longer stated support period and editing ecosystem, a compact display, or the price you can actually obtain after trade-in and discounts.

OnePlus 15 camera hardware
OnePlus lists a Sony IMX906 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation, a 50MP ultrawide with autofocus and a 116-degree field of view, and a 50MP periscope telephoto with optical stabilisation. Its native optical reach is 3.5x, while OnePlus describes 7x as “optical quality” or high-quality lossless zoom. The company also promotes DetailMax processing. Those labels describe the available sensors and modes; they do not tell you how much fine detail survives in a night scene, a moving subject or a heavily cropped frame.

- 161.4 x 76.7 x 8.1 mm (6.35 x 3.02 x 0.32 in)
The 3.5x perspective is useful for portraits, food and people across a table without moving too far away. It can also be a practical middle step between the main camera and a digital crop. The 50MP ultrawide’s autofocus may help with close subjects as well as broad scenes, but the specification does not quantify edge sharpness or minimum focusing distance. Likewise, the three 50MP figures do not guarantee identical color, exposure or low-light performance between lenses.
Pixel 11 camera hardware
Google lists a 48MP wide camera, a 13MP ultrawide with a 120-degree field of view and a 10.8MP 5x optical telephoto with optical image stabilisation. Super Zoom is specified up to 30x. A 5x lens gives the Pixel a longer native perspective than the OnePlus 3.5x lens, while the OnePlus ultrawide has more stated sensor resolution and the Pixel has the wider quoted field of view.
A 5x lens can frame distant signs, stage performers or architectural details more tightly from the same standing position. It may be less convenient indoors or for a nearby person, where 3.5x can fit more of the subject. Super Zoom’s 30x ceiling is a mode limit, not a promise that a 30x image will retain the detail of an optical capture. At any long zoom, hand movement, atmospheric haze and subject motion become increasingly important.
Features that affect the shooting workflow
Google’s listed camera and editing tools include Night Sight, Astrophotography, Camera Coach, Real Tone, Auto Best Take, Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur and Ask Photos integration. These features can matter more than megapixel counts if you routinely photograph people in difficult light, remove distractions or combine expressions from several frames. OnePlus’s documentation highlights DetailMax and its zoom modes instead. The two companies are emphasizing different parts of the capture-and-edit process.
Consider where your photos go after capture. A person who posts quickly may value an effective automatic result and an integrated editor. Someone who exports files to a desktop may care more about consistent lens color, stabilization and video formats. The listed features also depend on software availability and may change with updates; they are not substitutes for checking the exact camera app behavior you need.
Which phone takes better photos?
The available evidence does not answer that question. No controlled side-by-side samples, standardized scenes or independent measurements establish a winner. A fair review would photograph the same daylight landscape, indoor room, night street, moving subject and portrait on both phones; repeat the ultrawide and every optical-zoom step; check skin tones, autofocus, highlight recovery and stabilization; and disclose whether images are straight from the camera or edited with each phone’s tools. Until that work is done, treat the camera comparison as a choice between focal lengths and documented features, not a guaranteed image-quality ranking.
Battery life and charging
Published capacity and charging rates
OnePlus specifies a 7,300mAh battery and up to 80W wired charging in its US/Canada launch material, plus 50W wireless charging. Google specifies a 4,985mAh typical capacity for Pixel 11, charging to about 55% in approximately 30 minutes when used with a 30W-or-higher USB-C PPS charger, and Qi2.2 wireless charging up to 25W. Google says the compatible charger is sold separately; OnePlus says its package includes a charging brick and cable.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Capacity and wattage are not runtime tests. Screen brightness, cellular signal, processor workload, gaming, camera use, ambient temperature and charging limits all change results. The defensible paper comparison is that OnePlus publishes the larger battery and faster wired rate. It is not a promise that every owner will get proportionally longer battery life or that charging will always sustain the maximum rate.
Charging accessories can change the practical cost. Pixel buyers should budget for a 30W-or-higher USB-C PPS adapter if they do not already own one; a generic USB-C plug may not deliver the stated rate. OnePlus’s 80W figure is a maximum under supported conditions, so cable, adapter, temperature and regional restrictions still matter. Wireless figures likewise describe peak capability, not the speed every third-party pad will provide.
Who benefits from each approach?
- Choose the OnePlus design on paper if long sessions away from an outlet, rapid top-ups, 50W wireless charging or the included charger matter more than a compact handset.
- Choose the Pixel approach if you already own a suitable 30W-or-higher PPS charger, prefer Qi2.2 accessories, or are comfortable judging battery life by independent tests rather than capacity alone.
Display, gaming and video recording
The OnePlus 15 has a 6.78-inch 1.5K display with a manufacturer-claimed gaming refresh rate of up to 165Hz. Pixel 11 has a smaller 6.3-inch panel with a 60–120Hz range. A higher refresh ceiling can make supported games and scrolling appear more fluid, but the benefit depends on the game, frame rate, brightness and power settings. The published figures do not establish brightness, color accuracy or outdoor legibility superiority.
The size difference affects handling as well as immersion. OnePlus gives games, timelines and split-screen apps more physical area, but it may require two-handed use for some people. Pixel’s 6.3-inch format is easier to fit in a pocket or operate one-handed. Neither specification says how long either phone can sustain its top refresh mode before heat or battery settings reduce it.
OnePlus’s announcement describes 4K video at up to 120 frames per second with Dolby Vision. Google lists rear-camera recording at 4K and 24, 30 or 60fps. These are materially different capture options: OnePlus gives creators a high-frame-rate mode on paper, while Pixel lists the conventional frame rates many editing workflows use. Confirm which resolution, lens and HDR combinations are available simultaneously before buying for a specific production workflow.
Software experience and update longevity
OnePlus: OxygenOS 16 and the UK support document
OnePlus identifies OxygenOS 16, based on Android 16, for the OnePlus 15. Its launch material describes Plus Mind and Mind Space, including the ability for Gemini to use information saved in Mind Space. OnePlus also describes Parallel Processing 2.0 as improving smoothness during app switching, navigation and multitasking; that is the company’s description, not an independent performance result.
Mind Space and Gemini integration may appeal if you want notes, saved information and assistant actions in one workflow. Check privacy controls and which services must be enabled before relying on it for sensitive material. Feature names alone do not establish whether the experience is faster or more reliable than Pixel’s tools.
A OnePlus UK compliance statement for model CPH2747 says: “Defined Support Period: 6 years (until 13-November -2031).” This is a UK document with a defined support period. It does not state that the phone receives six major Android upgrades, and it should not be generalized to every market without checking the local terms.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesPixel 11: Android 17 and seven years of updates
Google’s Pixel 11 specification page says the phone launches with Android 17 and receives seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates. Google’s broader policy page lists Pixel 11 among supported models and distinguishes earlier generations with different durations: Google’s Pixel update policy. “Seven years” combines several update types; it does not mean every operating-system release, security patch and feature drop arrives at exactly the same time.
On the published evidence, Pixel has the longer and more explicitly described support commitment. OnePlus’s six-year figure is still substantial, but its geographic scope and wording matter. If you keep phones until the end of their support period, verify the policy for your country, exact model number and purchase channel.
Value: compare what you actually pay
OnePlus launch pricing
The North American announcement dated 13 November 2025 listed $899.99 for OnePlus 15 with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and $999.99 for 16GB/512GB. The announcement says US pricing is subject to change. These are launch reference prices, not a guarantee of the current unlocked price.
Pixel’s displayed offer versus its comparison amount
Google’s US Store page displays Pixel 11 “From $449” after an eligible trade-in and discount, with $899 shown as the comparison amount. The $449 figure is therefore not an unconditional price. Eligibility, the phone surrendered, promotion dates, storage, taxes and carrier requirements can change the result.

A like-for-like cost calculation
- Choose the same storage tier, or record clearly that one phone has twice the storage.
- Compare unlocked with unlocked, or the same carrier contract and activation requirements.
- Remove trade-in value from both phones unless you are certain you would make the trade.
- Add sales tax, a case, protection plan and any required charger. Google lists a compatible 30W-or-higher PPS charger separately; OnePlus says its launch package includes a brick and cable.
- Check the live price in your country and confirm that the model, radio bands, warranty and return policy apply to your location.
Also account for storage longevity. A 256GB phone may be adequate for cloud-backed photos, while 512GB can be worthwhile for 4K video and large games. Paying more for storage is only a value if you will use it; conversely, a low headline price can be misleading if the discounted configuration has less storage than the competing phone.
A headline discount can make Pixel look dramatically cheaper, while a higher-storage OnePlus configuration can narrow or reverse the difference. Use the net cost you can obtain today, not an old launch MSRP or an offer you do not qualify for.

Choose OnePlus 15 when hardware capacity is the priority
- You want the largest stated battery and the fastest published wired charging of the two.
- You play games that can take advantage of a 165Hz display mode.
- You prefer a 3.5x optical periscope for portraits and mid-range subjects, with a 7x optical-quality mode.
- You record video where the announced 4K/120fps Dolby Vision option is useful.
- You want a charging brick included in the package, subject to the regional box contents.
Choose Pixel 11 when longevity and Google’s camera tools matter most
- You expect to keep the phone for many years and value Google’s stated seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates.
- You want a native 5x optical telephoto and Google’s named computational features.
- You regularly use Night Sight, Astrophotography, Camera Coach, Real Tone, Auto Best Take or editing tools such as Magic Eraser and Photo Unblur.
- You prefer a smaller 6.3-inch form factor over a 6.78-inch gaming-oriented panel.
- Your eligible trade-in makes the current Google Store price materially lower than the OnePlus price.
When neither specification sheet settles the decision
If your priorities are camera quality, all-day endurance, thermal behavior or gaming frame rates, wait for independent testing that uses matched settings. Ask whether the review reports screen-on time, cellular conditions, charger temperature, sustained gaming performance and original camera files. Manufacturer specifications are useful for narrowing the choice, but they cannot substitute for those measurements.
Buying checklist before checkout
- Confirm the exact model and storage: OnePlus 15 12GB/256GB or 16GB/512GB, or the Pixel 11 configuration you intend to buy.
- Check regional availability, warranty coverage and network compatibility.
- Read the live offer’s trade-in eligibility, required activation and expiration date.
- Verify whether the box includes a charger in your market.
- For long-term ownership, save the support-policy page and confirm the phone’s model number.
- For photography, decide whether you need 3.5x or 5x optical framing, a wide ultrawide view, Google’s editing tools or OnePlus’s high-resolution multi-camera setup.
- For video, confirm the exact lens and HDR combinations for 4K/120fps, Dolby Vision, stabilization and external-audio accessories.
Bottom line
On published specifications, OnePlus 15 is the stronger hardware-value proposition for battery capacity, wired charging, gaming refresh rate and a three-50MP rear-camera array. Pixel 11 is the stronger longevity proposition, with a seven-year update statement, a 5x optical telephoto and Google’s extensive named capture and editing features. The actual winner depends on current local pricing and your priorities; no published evidence here proves which phone takes better photos or lasts longer in real use.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which phone has better battery life?
The OnePlus 15 has the larger published capacity at 7,300mAh versus Pixel 11’s 4,985mAh typical capacity, and it advertises up to 80W wired charging. Those figures make OnePlus the paper winner for capacity and top-up speed, but only a controlled test can establish real screen-on time or endurance.
Which phone takes better photos?
The specifications do not establish a winner. OnePlus offers three 50MP rear cameras and a 3.5x optical periscope; Pixel has a 5x optical telephoto and features such as Night Sight, Camera Coach and Magic Eraser. Matched daylight, low-light, portrait, zoom and video samples are needed for a quality verdict.
How long will each phone get updates?
Google states seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates for Pixel 11. A OnePlus UK compliance statement for model CPH2747 defines a six-year support period ending 13 November 2031. The OnePlus document does not promise six major Android upgrades and may not define terms in every country.
Is the Pixel 11 worth more than the OnePlus 15?
It depends on the offer and your priorities. Pixel’s US page shows $449 only after an eligible trade-in and discount, alongside an $899 comparison amount. OnePlus launched at $899.99 for 256GB and $999.99 for 512GB. Compare storage, unlocked status, taxes, charger cost and trade-in conditions before deciding.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Do both phones include a charger?
OnePlus says its launch package includes a charging brick and cable, subject to regional box contents. Google says a compatible 30W-or-higher USB-C PPS charger for the Pixel 11 is sold separately. Confirm the box contents in your market before budgeting.
Is 3.5x or 5x telephoto better?
Neither is universally better. OnePlus’s 3.5x framing suits nearby portraits and mid-range subjects, while Pixel’s native 5x reach is better suited to more distant details. Your preferred shooting distance matters more than the larger number alone.
The Bottom Line
Choose OnePlus 15 for the larger stated battery, faster wired charging, gaming-focused display and 3.5x periscope hardware. Choose Pixel 11 for seven years of stated updates, a native 5x telephoto and Google’s camera and editing tools. Verify current local pricing and seek independent tests before treating either phone as the camera or battery champion.
