The OnePlus 13R is listed in India at ₹42,999 for 12GB/256GB, while the TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G starts at ₹49,999 for 8GB/256GB—a ₹7,000 difference between those entry configurations. The phones make different trade-offs: OnePlus lists a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, an adaptive LTPO display and a 2× optical telephoto camera; TECNO lists a 144Hz display option and a larger 6,500mAh battery. The figures below are manufacturer specifications and dated India price listings, not independent performance or endurance test results.

The prices below are India listings. OnePlus’s official specifications page gives the 13R’s maximum retail prices; Gadgets 360 reported the POVA 8 Pro prices on 6 October 2026. Actual checkout prices may vary with availability and offers.

At 512GB storage, the listed TECNO configuration costs ₹5,000 more, but it has 12GB RAM versus 16GB for the OnePlus variant. TECNO’s configuration labels also include extended RAM; that is not the same as physical RAM. TECNO India’s product page confirms the model but does not state a price in its retrieved page text. Display: adaptive refresh or a higher listed maximum?
Both phones have a 6.78-inch display. OnePlus lists the higher resolution at 2780×1264 pixels and a dynamic 1–120Hz LTPO 4.1 panel. TECNO lists 2644×1208 pixels and selectable refresh rates of 60, 90, 120 or 144Hz.
On paper, the OnePlus offers more pixels and adaptive refresh that can vary down to 1Hz, while the TECNO offers the higher maximum refresh-rate setting. A higher stated maximum does not by itself establish smoother performance in every app or a better-looking panel. Resolution, content, software behavior and use all matter; these specifications do not provide a direct viewing test.
Battery and charging: capacity versus wattage
TECNO lists a 6,500mAh battery, 500mAh more than the OnePlus 13R’s listed 6,000mAh. OnePlus specifies 80W SUPERVOOC charging, compared with TECNO’s 45W Super Charge. The capacity figures are rated specifications, and the wattage figures do not establish actual battery life or time to recharge. Those outcomes depend on conditions and require comparable testing.

Cameras: telephoto reach or an ultra-wide option?
Both manufacturers list a 50MP main rear camera with optical image stabilization and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The OnePlus 13R also lists a 50MP telephoto camera with 2× optical zoom; TECNO’s listed rear setup does not include a telephoto camera. That gives the OnePlus a dedicated optical-zoom option, while both list an ultra-wide role. Megapixel counts and lens types do not establish which phone takes better photos; image samples or testing are needed to judge processing, detail and low-light results.
For selfies, OnePlus lists a 16MP front camera and TECNO a 13MP front camera. Resolution alone is not a reliable measure of selfie quality.
Performance, memory and software
The OnePlus 13R lists Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, LPDDR5X RAM options of 12GB or 16GB, and UFS 4.0 storage in 256GB or 512GB configurations. TECNO lists a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G processor and configurations with 8GB or 12GB physical RAM and 256GB or 512GB storage; its labels also show extended memory. Do not treat extended RAM as an equivalent amount of physical RAM. The supplied specifications do not include comparable benchmark results, so the chip names alone are not a measured performance comparison.

The manufacturer pages list OxygenOS 15 based on Android 15 for OnePlus and HiOS 16 based on Android 16 for TECNO. These are the versions specified on the cited pages, rather than a guarantee of what every unit or later update will run.
Size and additional listed features
TECNO lists the lighter, thinner handset: 189g and 7.39mm, compared with 206g and 8.02mm for OnePlus. These are manufacturer-provided physical specifications.
TECNO’s specifications also list Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and an under-display fingerprint sensor. Its product details advertise IP69K/69/68/66 ratings; TECNO’s footnotes say the water- and dust-resistance ratings are based on controlled-condition testing. The same page says a 144FPS Ultra Extreme option for PUBG MOBILE was expected through a future major game update by October 2026, with rollout dependent on that update. It should not be treated as available on every software build. Details are on TECNO’s POVA 8 Pro 5G product page.
Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the OnePlus 13R if the cited India entry price, higher-resolution LTPO display, 2× optical telephoto camera, or higher listed charging wattage is more relevant to you.
- Consider the TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G if you prefer its larger listed battery, higher selectable refresh-rate maximum, lighter and thinner body, or the listed feature set.
- Check the exact variant and live price before buying: the entry configurations differ in physical RAM, and listed prices can change.
For OnePlus’s product information, see its OnePlus 13R product page. The cited price reporting for TECNO gives the release date as 18 August 2026 and was updated 6 October 2026; treat those prices as a dated market snapshot.
