The OnePlus 12R and Motorola Edge 70 Pro Plus 5G suit different priorities: the 12R pairs an LTPO display with 100W wired charging, while Motorola is reported to add wireless charging, a larger battery, a 144 Hz display and a telephoto camera. There is no clear winner from specifications alone, and the available price listings are not a like-for-like, guaranteed price comparison.

Naming varies by source: Motorola India lists “motorola edge 70 pro plus,” while the comparison page renders it “Motorola Edge 70 Pro + 5G.”

What the specification differences mean

Display: adaptive refresh versus a higher stated rate

The OnePlus 12R specifies LTPO technology and a dynamic 1–120 Hz refresh rate. Motorola’s reported display reaches 144 Hz. A higher refresh-rate figure does not by itself establish better overall display quality: panel behavior, brightness, color, content and your preferences also matter.

Camera: more focal-length options on Motorola’s reported setup

The Motorola configuration reported by 91mobiles includes a telephoto camera with up to 3.5× optical zoom, giving it more distinct rear-camera options on paper than the OnePlus 12R’s main, ultrawide and macro cameras. The 12R’s official specifications identify its 50 MP main camera as a Sony IMX890 sensor with OIS. Megapixel counts and camera lists do not establish which phone takes better photos; that requires comparative image testing.

Battery and charging: capacity is not a runtime test

Motorola is reported to have a 6,500 mAh battery and wireless charging, while the 12R has a 5,500 mAh battery and 100W wired charging. The listed wired charging rates are 90W for Motorola and 100W for OnePlus. Those figures do not predict exact charging times or real-world battery life, which depend on conditions and use.

Performance: chipset names are not a real-world verdict

The phones use different processor platforms: Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in the 12R and Dimensity 8500 Extreme in the Motorola, according to 91mobiles. Their names alone are not enough to determine which performs better in the apps, games or workloads you care about.

Price difference in India: check the variant and date

Price snapshots do not establish a fixed gap between these phones. OnePlus India’s official specification page lists MRP of ₹39,999 for the 8/128 GB 12R and ₹45,999 for the 16/256 GB version; these are listed MRPs, not proof of current retail availability.

Motorola India’s product page displayed an MRP of ₹84,999 and a price of ₹47,999, inclusive of taxes, when accessed on 2026-10-07. Separately, 91mobiles showed ₹46,990 for Motorola on Amazon and ₹33,999 for the OnePlus 12R, which it marked out of stock. Those listings differ in source and availability, and the 91mobiles figures do not establish a live, variant-matched transaction price for both phones.

Which phone should you choose?

Choose the OnePlus 12R if

  • You value an LTPO display with a dynamic 1–120 Hz refresh rate.
  • 100W wired charging is more useful to you than wireless charging.
  • You are considering the 8/128 GB or 16/256 GB configuration and can find it at an acceptable current price.

Consider the Motorola if

  • You want wireless charging or the larger stated battery capacity.
  • A reported 144 Hz display is more appealing than the 12R’s LTPO specification.
  • You would make use of a telephoto camera and its reported up-to-3.5× optical zoom.

For either phone, weigh camera needs, display preference, charging habits, storage and the manufacturer’s current software policy alongside the actual price of the variant available to you. These are specification trade-offs, not evidence of a universal winner.
