The OnePlus 12R has the larger listed battery and an adaptive LTPO display; the OnePlus 11 has more capable-looking secondary camera hardware on paper, including a dedicated 2× telephoto. Both use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and list 80W charging, so the 12R is not a chipset-generation upgrade. OnePlus’s US page displays a $699.99 starting price for the 11, but the available official pages do not establish a comparable current price for the 12R—so they do not support a reliable price-difference figure.

Which is better: OnePlus 11 or OnePlus 12R?
For battery capacity and adaptive display behavior, the OnePlus 12R has the stronger listed specification set. OnePlus lists 5500mAh typical capacity and an LTPO4.0 panel with a dynamic 1–120Hz refresh rate. The OnePlus 11 is described as having a 120Hz 2K AMOLED display and a 5000mAh battery. The 12R’s typical battery figure is 500mAh higher, but capacity figures do not establish real-world battery life; usage and test conditions matter.

For camera flexibility on paper, the OnePlus 11 has the advantage in its secondary cameras: a 48MP ultra-wide and a dedicated 32MP 2× optical telephoto, versus the 12R’s 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro. Both list a 50MP main camera, though the 12R page identifies its sensor as Sony IMX890. These hardware specifications do not prove which phone takes better photos; no independent image-quality testing is established here.
Performance, storage, and display differences
Performance
Both phones list Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The 12R therefore does not represent a move to a newer named chipset generation than the OnePlus 11. The shared platform alone cannot establish identical performance in every task or configuration.
Storage configurations
The OnePlus 11 product page advertises up to 16GB LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 storage. The 12R US specifications page lists 8GB or 16GB LPDDR5X memory and 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The listed storage technology favors the 11 on paper, but compare the exact capacity and regional SKU being sold rather than assuming every configuration is equivalent.

The 12R’s US specifications page gives a 6.78-inch diagonal, 2780 × 1264 resolution, 450ppi, LTPO4.0 AMOLED, and adaptive 1–120Hz refresh rate. OnePlus describes the 11 display as 120Hz 2K AMOLED and notes Dolby Vision. These descriptions are not perfectly parallel, so the labels alone should not be treated as a direct measurement of overall display quality.
Battery capacity and charging
OnePlus lists a 5000mAh battery for the 11 and a 5500mAh typical dual-cell capacity for the 12R. The 12R US specifications page also lists 5360mAh as rated capacity and explains that its 5500mAh equivalent comes from two 2750mAh cells at 7.82V. Both phones list 80W SUPERVOOC charging. The matching wattage does not establish matching charging times, and battery capacity by itself is not a battery-life test.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.OnePlus 11 vs 12R price difference
The OnePlus 11 US product page displays “From $699.99.” This is a page-displayed starting price, not a verified current transaction price or confirmation that a particular configuration is in stock. The retrieved OnePlus 12R product information did not provide a comparable price. As a result, an exact current price gap cannot be calculated from these official pages.
Before comparing offers, match the market, storage capacity, condition (new, used, or refurbished), seller, and warranty. Prices and availability can change; check the live listing for each exact model rather than treating a displayed starting price as a like-for-like offer. Software support: what is established
OnePlus states on its US 12R specifications page: “At least three generations of android OS upgrades and four years of security updates from the launch date.” The retrieved OnePlus 11 US product source does not establish an equivalent support commitment. That is not enough information to determine which model has more support time remaining today; the 12R statement is measured from its launch date, and current OS and security status should be checked for the specific device and market.

Which model should you choose?
- Choose the OnePlus 12R if the larger listed typical battery capacity and adaptive 1–120Hz display are your priorities, and its listed secondary-camera setup meets your needs.
- Consider the OnePlus 11 if you want a dedicated 2× optical telephoto and higher-resolution ultra-wide hardware on paper, or if the specific configuration you find offers the storage capacity and technology you prefer.
- Compare both listings directly if price is decisive. The available official US page information does not establish a current, comparable price for both phones.
OnePlus cautions that product information may change and that availability, software, and performance can vary. The specifications above are not a substitute for a current regional listing or independent performance, battery, and camera testing.
