The Omega OBO691TGG is a discontinued 60 cm built-in oven. CHOICE lists it as discontinued, and Omega lists it in its product archive, so any unit you find now is a legacy or second-hand purchase rather than new stock. Its published specifications are clear. Its cooking performance is not something a public source can judge: CHOICE’s detailed scores are member-only on the page we could access, and no hands-on testing has been done for this article.
What the OBO691TGG is
Omega’s specification sheet describes the OBO691TGG as a 60 cm built-in oven with a 90 L capacity. It offers six cooking functions: fan forced, grill, maxi grill, conventional, conventional with fan assist, and defrost. The listed maximum temperature is 270°C. The oven has a fully programmable timer, 12 shelf positions, an interior light, a mix of knob and touch controls, a top-opening double-glazed door, and a black-glass finish with stainless-steel trim. The sheet is undated, so these are Omega’s stated figures for the model rather than figures tied to a known publication date.
Specifications compared across two sources
Omega’s sheet and CHOICE’s review page overlap on some figures and differ on others. The table below keeps each source’s values separate. Where a source does not give a value on the accessible page, the cell says so.

Two differences need attention. The shelf count differs: Omega lists 12 positions and CHOICE lists nine. The capacity figures also do not line up. Neither source explains how its figure was measured, so treat both as stated values and check the actual cavity before relying on either number for planning.

Fit, installation, and electrical requirements
Physical fit is the most common failure point for a second-hand built-in oven, so measure before you buy. Omega warns that specifications and sizes can change and says cutouts should be based on physical measurements rather than printed figures. Its instruction manual adds: “Due to continual product development, Omega reserves the right to alter specifications and appearances without notice.”
- Measure the cabinet opening against the cutout values for the proudmount or flushmount installation you plan. Omega lists both types, but the accessible sources do not give the numbers, so take them from the manual or Omega directly.
- Compare your opening with CHOICE’s cutout of 598 × 598 × 550 mm as a cross-check, not as a guarantee.
- Check the rating on the appliance label against the electrical supply in your home. The manual specifies 220–240 V at 50 Hz.
- Confirm local rules for built-in electrical appliances in your region.
The manual states that installation is only permitted by a licensed electrician. Treat that as a requirement, not a recommendation, and budget for it when buying a used unit.
Using and cleaning the oven
The manual covers conventional cooking, grill, and timed cooking, and includes sections on cleaning and troubleshooting. Two cautions appear repeatedly in the manual’s care guidance:

- Disconnect or isolate the power before any maintenance, including replacing a lamp. Installation and electrical work should be handled by a suitably qualified person.

The accessories are listed as one chrome wire shelf, one shallow baking tray, one grill insert, and one 80 mm baking tray. Omega’s sheet also lists an Easy View door. Do not assume that trays or shelves sold separately will fit this model unless the seller or Omega confirms the part number for the OBO691TGG.
Warranty and support
The sources give two different warranty statements, and they describe different things, so they should not be merged into one promise:
- Omega’s specification sheet and the instruction manual both state 24 months from purchase for parts and labour.
- Omega New Zealand’s warranty page says four-year coverage applies to specified models bought from August 2019 onwards, and it includes the OBO691TGG in that list.
Which period applies to you depends on purchase date, region, and proof of purchase. Statutory consumer rights may apply in addition to any manufacturer warranty. For a second-hand unit, the original purchase date may matter more than the model, so check the paperwork that came with the oven, then contact Omega with the model and serial details.

Buying a discontinued model
Because the OBO691TGG is no longer in production, check the following before paying for a unit:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →- Confirm the exact model number on the rating label, not just the listing title. Search phrases such as “Omega OBO691TGG review” and “Omega OBO691TGG manual” will return material for this model, but listings may describe similar Omega ovens.
- Ask the seller for the purchase date and whether the unit is in its original packaging or has been removed from a kitchen.
- Test the controls and door before collecting it, if you can. Check the door glass and seals for damage.
- Check the cabinet opening against the cutout measurements, and book a licensed electrician if the oven is to be connected.
- Find out whether the seller is able to provide accessories. Do not assume they are included or compatible.
Troubleshooting: loose or detached front glass
A third-party manual page hosts a user question asking whether the front glass of an oven can be fixed after coming off. That is one individual question, and the accessible sources do not establish that this is a recurring defect in the OBO691TGG. If you face this problem, isolate the power first, as the manual requires for any maintenance. Then contact an authorised Omega service centre for an assessment, because the manual directs owners to them for further problems and the accessible sources do not confirm an available replacement glass panel.

Our verdict on the OBO691TGG
The OBO691TGG is a well-specified legacy oven whose published features, dimensions, and warranty terms are clear enough to plan around. Its cooking results remain unverified here, because the independent scores are behind CHOICE’s membership wall and no testing was done for this article. Buy one only after you have confirmed the cutout, electrical supply, warranty period for your purchase, and the availability of parts you may need later.
The Bottom Line
Verify the model, cabinet opening, electrical supply, and warranty period before buying a discontinued OBO691TGG. Its cooking performance cannot be judged from public sources.
