Omarchy 3.3.0, released January 7, 2026, adds optional Voxtype dictation and hibernation, and updates configuration compatibility for Hyprland 0.53. Existing users can install it from the Omarchy menu; new users can download the release ISO. It is a dated release, not a claim about the latest Omarchy version.
What’s new in Omarchy 3.3.0?
The release’s most visible additions are opt-in voice dictation and hibernation. It also includes a Hyprland 0.53 compatibility fix and a group of smaller app, shortcut, and system changes. The details below are from the official Omarchy 3.3.0 release notes.
Optional voice dictation through Voxtype
To add dictation, open the Omarchy menu with Super + Alt + Space, then choose Install > AI > Dictation. Once installed, start dictation with Super + Ctrl + X. The release notes describe the default base English model as 150 MB; that is the release’s stated model size, not a benchmark or independent measurement.
You can select another model from the microphone indicator or run voxtype setup model. The configuration file is ~/.config/voxtype/config.toml. Model availability and packaging continue to evolve: the Voxtype project documentation currently describes English-only and multilingual Whisper families, additional ONNX engines, and Arch packages. Its prebuilt Linux CPU binaries require x86-64-v3 features (AVX2, FMA, BMI1, and BMI2); older CPUs need a source build targeted to the machine. These current Voxtype details should not be read as a list of everything bundled with Omarchy 3.3.0.

Optional hibernation
Enable the feature through Setup > System Sleep > Enable Hibernate. Omarchy’s setup creates a swap subvolume sized to the machine’s physical RAM. The release notes state: “Hibernation requires a swap subvolume of the same size as your physical RAM allotment.” On supported systems, setup can also configure suspend-to-hibernate after 30 minutes.
Resuming a hibernated, encrypted system requires entering both the disk-encryption password and the hyprlock screen-lock password. Hardware and Linux sleep support vary, so enabling the setting does not guarantee hibernation will work on every laptop. The release also provides an option to restore suspend to the System menu; its defaults are lock, screensaver, restart, and shutdown, with suspend and hibernation enabled through setup where supported.

How to update or install Omarchy 3.3.0
Update an existing installation
- Open the Omarchy menu with Super + Alt + Space.
- Select Update > Omarchy.
- Allow the update to finish, then restart if prompted or if Hyprland configuration errors appeared during the update.
Install from the release ISO
The 3.3.0 release page offers an ISO and publishes this SHA256 checksum: d6de3c8ba3c856acdded8c4ec8b352487d504aabb20687c89d325e1236611977. The release notes do not establish a recommended USB capacity, drive model, or image-writing method, so check current Omarchy installation instructions for those details.

Hyprland 0.53 fix and upgrade caveat
Omarchy 3.3.0 updates configuration compatibility for Hyprland 0.53. The project warns that an upgrade may initially display Hyprland configuration errors; according to the release notes, those should clear after the update completes and the system restarts.

If you have custom windowrules or layerrules, convert them to the new syntax. The release links to the Hyprland Rule Fix utility. Errors that remain after restarting, particularly errors involving custom rules, should be investigated rather than dismissed as a temporary upgrade message.
