OLED monitors are moving beyond a niche enthusiast purchase, with gaming demand and a wider range of high-refresh models driving rapid growth. But the available market figures are forecasts for 2025, not confirmed results, and they do not establish whether current listings are good deals.

Why are OLED monitor sales taking off?

Gaming is the clearest demand driver in the available market analysis. TrendForce linked growth to strong acceptance among gaming enthusiasts and brands expanding their OLED gaming ranges. Omdia likewise said: “OLED monitors are mostly used for gaming and have gained further traction following the inclusion of esports in the competition for the first time at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.”

Manufacturers are also offering more ways to trade resolution against refresh rate. The representative 27-inch models in the table below range from 4K at 240Hz to QHD at 500Hz, giving buyers distinct options rather than one default OLED gaming specification.

What do the sales figures actually show?

TrendForce published separate 2025 forecasts for OLED panels and finished monitors. They count different things, so their shipment totals and growth rates should not be treated as competing measurements of the same market.

Measure TrendForce figure How to read it
OLED monitor panels 3.4 million shipments forecast for 2025, up 69% year over year; panel shipments had grown 132% in 2024. A forecast for panels, not finished retail monitors.
Finished OLED monitors 2.66 million shipments forecast for 2025, up 86% year over year. A separate forecast for complete monitors. TrendForce put OLED at roughly 2% of the overall monitor market and said penetration could reach 5% by 2028.
First-quarter finished monitor shipments Approximately 507,000 units in Q1 2025, up 175% year over year. A reported quarterly figure; TrendForce identified 27-inch UHD models as a notable demand focus.

These figures show a fast-growing category, but they do not establish the final 2025 total or describe sales in 2026. In TrendForce’s 2025 forecast, QD-OLED’s share of OLED monitor shipments was expected to rise from 68% in 2024 to 73% in 2025.

The shipments are concentrated geographically. TrendForce forecast that North America, Europe, and China together would account for more than 80% of global OLED monitor shipments. It expected China’s share to rise from 14% in 2024 to 21% in 2025, and Europe’s from 28% to 33%.

Are there good OLED monitor deals right now?

The available information does not include current prices, inventory, retailer rankings, or verified discounts, so it cannot establish which OLED monitors are deals today. Check live listings before buying; a discount claim should be judged against the model’s actual street price and launch price, not just a crossed-out list price.

  • Compare the exact model number and panel size; similar names can refer to different resolutions or refresh rates.
  • Check the seller’s return policy and the manufacturer’s warranty terms, especially what they say about burn-in.
  • Compare prices across retailers and confirm stock and delivery details at checkout.
  • Decide whether you will benefit from the panel’s resolution and refresh rate before paying a premium over a monitor with specifications better matched to your use.

Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 G60SF 27-inch QD-OLED QHD, 500Hz Samsung lists 0.03ms GTG.

For a buyer prioritizing 4K resolution at 27 inches, the ASUS is the listed fit. For a buyer prioritizing the highest refresh rate among these examples, Samsung’s QHD model is the fit. Neither specification alone establishes which monitor looks better, performs better in a particular game, or offers better value; those judgments require comparable independent testing and current prices.

Should you choose QD-OLED or WOLED?

The shipment forecast shows QD-OLED gaining share, but market share is not a verdict on picture quality. The available product examples are both QD-OLED, and the cited information does not provide an independently tested QD-OLED-versus-WOLED comparison for color, brightness behavior, or text clarity. It therefore cannot support a universal recommendation for one panel type.

When comparing a specific QD-OLED and WOLED monitor, look for independent testing of the conditions that matter to you—such as desktop text, bright-room use, and the games you play—alongside the exact panel specification. Do not assume that a panel label by itself settles those questions.

What resolution and refresh rate should you prioritize?

Choose around the games and tasks you actually run

A 27-inch QHD display with a very high refresh rate targets buyers who value fast-paced competitive play. A 27-inch 4K display at 240Hz, such as the listed ASUS model, combines higher resolution with a high refresh rate. TrendForce also identified 27-inch UHD models as a notable focus in Q1 2025; that demand signal is not a recommendation that UHD is right for every buyer.

Do not buy a refresh-rate number in isolation

Use 240Hz or 360Hz as comparison points for high-refresh gaming, and consider a 500Hz-class model if your priority is esports-focused play. The products cited here establish a 500Hz option, but the available evidence does not show that every player, game, or computer setup will benefit equally. Compare the monitor’s resolution and refresh rate together rather than treating the largest refresh-rate figure as the best overall choice.

What should you check about burn-in and warranty coverage?

The available information does not establish a universal OLED lifespan, burn-in rate, or warranty policy for these models. Check the warranty for the exact monitor and region before purchase, including whether burn-in is covered and for how long. Also review the manufacturer’s pixel-refresh or panel-care instructions and the conditions under which those tools run; do not assume that different brands offer identical protection.
