Old Major Market accepts Bitcoin, according to an October 6, 2026, report by Bitcoin Magazine. Its official shipping FAQ says it ships to the lower 48 states except California, so the headline’s “48 states” should not be read as every contiguous state. The sources reviewed do not establish whether Bitcoin can be used at online checkout.
What Bitcoin acceptance means at Old Major Market
Bitcoin Magazine reported that Old Major Market began retaining 100% of the Bitcoin it receives on its balance sheet in 2026. The report attributes that policy to owner Mark LaFay and says the business previously converted Bitcoin receipts to cash. This is reported company policy, not independently confirmed financial information from Old Major’s official store or shipping pages.
The feature also describes local Bitcoiners buying bacon, sausage, and specialty meats with sats. It does not establish that customers can select Bitcoin as a payment method on the website. If you plan to place an online order, confirm payment options with Old Major before checkout rather than assuming the reported Bitcoin acceptance applies to web orders.

Bitcoin Magazine also presents a hypothetical “1% Orange Pill” calculation: it assumes a merchant has $1 million in annual revenue and a 10% profit margin, shifts 1% of sales to Bitcoin, and assumes Bitcoin doubles in value. Its resulting $120,000 figure is the output of those assumptions, not a disclosed Old Major Market result or evidence that accepting Bitcoin increases a merchant’s profits.
