Henicle started ODU’s Cure Bowl win over South Florida. The team profile lists his bowl performance as 11 completions on 25 attempts for 127 yards, plus 24 carries for 107 yards and two touchdowns.

Is Henicle returning to Old Dominion in 2026?
Yes. ODU’s March 26, 2026 spring-practice report says the staff re-recruited Henicle after his successful 2025 season. The Old Dominion Athletic Foundation’s 2026 Gameplan document also says he returned and identifies him as the Cure Bowl MVP. These sources establish his return and roster status, but do not provide a complete quarterback depth-chart ranking.
What does “officially a GTD” mean?
The official ODU sources cited here do not define “GTD” or describe an announcement that would establish the title’s claim. Without a source clarifying the abbreviation and what it refers to, it should not be expanded or treated as a verified change in Henicle’s status. The confirmed facts are that he returned for 2026 and is listed on ODU’s roster as a redshirt sophomore.
