Odisha announced a cash reward of ₹11 lakh for each player on India’s women’s hockey team and ₹5.5 lakh for each support staff member after India won Asian Games gold. The team beat China 1-0 in the final on 2 October 2026.
How much will the players and support staff receive?
The Odisha government’s announcement, reported by Press Trust of India (PTI), sets the reward at ₹11 lakh per player and ₹5.5 lakh per support staff member. The available reports do not establish the total number of recipients, so they do not support a reliable overall payout figure.
Odisha Sports Department Secretary Bhupendra Singh Poonia said the state’s player prize was additional to a separate Hockey India prize: “The cash prize for the players announced by the chief minister is over and above the one that has been announced by Hockey India yesterday.” The reports reviewed do not establish the amount or terms of Hockey India’s award.
