The October 6–7, 2026 Amazon Prime Big Deal Days reports include up to $200 off selected M5 MacBook Air configurations at Amazon, while a separate Dell XPS 13 offer is reported at Best Buy. The MacBook Air discount returns its listed price to the level before Apple’s June increase; it is not an unprecedented price. These are dated U.S. deal reports, not confirmed live checkout prices.
October Prime Day laptop deals at a glance
Amazon calls its October sale Prime Big Deal Days. Macworld reports that the 2026 event runs October 6–7; the prices below are U.S. figures reported on October 6 and can change. The Dell offer is at Best Buy, not Amazon.
| Laptop and configuration | Reported price | Retailer and context |
|---|---|---|
| 13-inch M5 MacBook Air, 16GB memory, 512GB SSD | $1,099, down from $1,299 | Amazon, as reported by MacRumors on October 6, 2026 |
| 15-inch M5 MacBook Air, 16GB memory, 512GB SSD | $1,299, down from $1,499 | Amazon, as reported by MacRumors on October 6, 2026 |
| Dell XPS 13, 512GB configurations | Starting at $599.99, reported $200 off | Best Buy, as reported by AOB News on October 6, 2026; processor and memory details were not stated in the reviewed report |
Macworld says Apple raised MacBook Air prices by $200 in June 2026. The October MacBook Air prices therefore bring the listed 13-inch and 15-inch configurations back to their pre-increase levels, rather than below those earlier baselines. Macworld also reports a £200 increase in the U.K.; the U.S. prices above should not be treated as U.K. pricing.

Which deal makes sense for you?
Choose the MacBook Air for macOS and Apple continuity
The 13-inch M5 MacBook Air is the smaller option in this comparison; the 15-inch version offers a larger display while keeping the same reported 16GB memory and 512GB SSD configuration. Choose between them based on whether portability or screen room matters more. Both offers suit someone who wants macOS or already relies on Apple devices and services.

Consider the XPS 13 if you want Windows and a lower reported starting price
The reported Best Buy starting price is substantially below the MacBook Air figures, but the report does not specify enough processor and memory detail to make a like-for-like performance comparison. Confirm the exact XPS configuration at checkout before deciding on value; the $599.99 figure applies to the reported 512GB configurations and should not be assumed for every XPS 13 model.
What the reported performance comparisons do—and do not—show
The XPS comparison guide describes its display and design favorably relative to the MacBook Neo and reports about 19 hours in its video rundown test, compared with just under 15 hours for the Neo. Those are that publisher’s results for the XPS 13 and MacBook Neo, not a direct test against either M5 MacBook Air. They do not establish which laptop lasts longer or performs better in your workload.
