Amazon’s 2026 October Prime Day event, officially called Prime Big Deal Days, runs October 6–7 and ends at 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 7. Amazon says select DEWALT, CRAFTSMAN and Bosch power tools are up to 40% off; a separate 42% claim in The Drive’s roundup applies to a particular DEWALT drill and light-duty impact-driver kit, not to DEWALT tools as a whole. Prices and availability can change, so check the live listing before buying.
What the DEWALT October Prime Day discounts mean
Amazon’s event-level offer is “up to 40% off” select power tools from DEWALT, CRAFTSMAN and Bosch, according to About Amazon’s 2026 event page. That is a maximum for selected products, not a promise that every DEWALT tool—or even every DEWALT listing—has the same discount.
The 42% figure comes from The Drive’s October 6 deal roundup and refers to one drill-and-light-duty-impact-driver kit. The Drive author Andrew P. Collins describes having had good personal experience with the tools in that kit; that is his stated experience, not an independent test of the sale offers. Amazon’s separate deal roundup lists a DEWALT 20V MAX brushless drill-and-impact-driver combo kit at up to 28% off.

Choose by the work you need to do
Drill-driver: holes and general fastening
A drill-driver is the more versatile choice for drilling holes and driving screws in routine projects. If you are buying a compact drill-driver kit, check whether it includes the battery and charger you need; a similar tool name can appear on a bare-tool listing as well as a kit.
Impact driver: repeated screw driving
An impact driver is designed for driving fasteners, particularly when a standard drill-driver may struggle with repeated or more demanding fastening. It is not a substitute for a drill when you need to make clean holes. A combo kit can cover both roles, but compare the added cost against whether you will use both tools.

Combo kit: check the accessories, not just tool count
Count the batteries and check for a charger and carrying bag. Bob Vila’s described combo includes two batteries, a charger and a bag, but do not assume another listing with a similar product name has the same package. Confirm the model or item number and each included component in the listing details.
