Amazon’s U.S. Prime Big Deal Days run October 6–7, 2026; as of October 3, the event has not started, so no preview can confirm its sale prices. A few Apple offers were reported before the event, including an AirTag (2nd generation) at $24 and a 13-inch M5 MacBook Air at $1,234, but those dated prices need to be checked against the live listing. Buy only if the exact model you need is already at a convincing price; otherwise, compare the event offer with recent price history before deciding.
When is October Prime Day, and who can shop?
Amazon calls its October sale Prime Big Deal Days. In the U.S., Amazon schedules the 48-hour event to begin at 12:01 a.m. PDT on October 6 and end October 7, 2026. Amazon says its event deals are exclusive to Prime members. Dates may differ by country, so shoppers outside the U.S. should check their local Amazon announcement. Amazon’s September 14, 2026 announcement lists the event details.
This guide was prepared before the sale began. Prices below are observations attributed to sources and dates, not promises about what will be available during the event. Macworld’s September 28 preview mixes prices it had seen with hoped-for sale prices; treat the latter as predictions, not confirmed deals.

What Apple deals are coming for October Prime Day?
No final event price is established before the sale. Macworld reported some pre-event discounts and described deeper prices it hoped to see; those expectations are not guarantees. Use the dated examples below as comparison points, then check the exact listing when you shop.

Should you buy an iPad now or wait for Prime Day?
There is no single buy-or-wait answer for every iPad. Macworld’s preview described recurring or occasional discounts on specific models before the sale and expected event offers, but did not establish final prices. Compare the entry iPad with the iPad Air by generation, storage, and Wi-Fi or cellular connectivity; a discount on one configuration does not prove another is a good value.
- Consider buying now if the exact model and connectivity you need is already at a price that compares well with its recent history, and delaying risks leaving you without it when you need it.
- Wait and compare if the current reduction is modest, you can comfortably defer, or the source’s deeper price is only an expectation.
Will MacBooks be cheaper on Prime Day?
They may be discounted, but the available pre-event reporting cannot establish what Amazon will charge during the sale. Macworld reported price changes and cuts on the M5 MacBook Air and base M5 MacBook Pro at preview time, while its hoped-for deeper event reductions remained predictions. Tom’s Guide separately reported a 13-inch M5 MacBook Air with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD at $1,234 versus $1,299 on October 2. Check that the live listing matches the required chip, screen size, memory, and storage before comparing it with a different MacBook.

If your current computer can last, waiting lets you compare the event price with the dated observations and Amazon’s price history. If you need a laptop before then and the exact configuration is already at a convincing price, a possible future discount is not assured savings.

Apple Watch
Macworld reported the Apple Watch Ultra 3 with Black Titanium Milanese Loop at $200 off when its preview appeared September 28, 2026, and anticipated discounts on older Watches. Treat those as time-bound observations and a forecast, respectively. Compare generation, case size, and GPS or cellular configuration; an older model or a different case is not automatically equivalent to the one you want.

AirPods
Macworld reported AirPods 5 with ANC at $129 versus $179 and said AirPods Pro 3 were regularly $50 off at preview time. Its hoped-for $70 Pro discount was not confirmed. Check the generation and whether the listing is the ANC model before judging the price.
Is the AirTag deal worth buying now?
Tom’s Guide reported the second-generation AirTag at $24 against a $29 reference price in its October 2, 2026 roundup. That is a useful dated comparison, not proof the offer is still live or that a lower event price is coming. An AirTag is a tracking accessory; this price report does not establish a particular range or guarantee of locating an item. Buy if you have a use for it and the live price suits you, rather than assuming every Apple accessory will be discounted.

How to tell whether an Apple deal is actually good
- Match the exact product. Check model and generation, chip, memory, storage, screen or case size, and Wi-Fi, cellular, GPS, or ANC features as applicable. Confirm whether it is new, refurbished, or renewed.
- Compare the live price with history. Amazon says eligible product pages can show up to 365 days of price history. On a product detail page, tap “Price History” to inspect that context, or ask Alexa for Shopping. Amazon also says shoppers can set deal or price alerts. These tools provide pricing information, not a guarantee that a price is the best available.
- Check the seller and terms. Confirm seller, condition, shipping, stock, and return policy. A low price from a different seller or on a different condition is not automatically comparable.
- Compare other retailers and decide based on timing. Check competing retailer prices for the same configuration. If you need the product before the event or a useful offer may disappear, a strong current deal can make sense; if not, waiting gives you a chance to assess the actual event offer.
