The available listing does not verify what was said in the AppleInsider Podcast episode named in the original title. It points instead to a different show, 9to5Mac Happy Hour, whose listing discusses rumors of an Apple smart-home hub and a possible HomePod mini update—not confirmed Apple announcements. 9to5Mac Happy Hour listing
What the October Apple rumors actually say
The 9to5Mac listing refers to an Apple smart-home hub, called “HomePad” in one linked headline, and mentions a possible HomePod mini update. Those are reported rumors in that listing; it does not establish that Apple announced either product, confirmed a launch, or disclosed final designs or capabilities.
Other products mentioned in the listing
The same listing points to coverage of an Apple TV 4K and iPad mini. That places the hub rumor among other reported Apple products, but does not confirm that they will be announced together or share an October launch schedule.

What this means for buyers
A HomePod mini is an existing product category, but the listing does not confirm a refreshed model or show that one is available. Treat “HomePad” and “smart display” as wording used in linked rumor coverage, not verified names or descriptions from Apple or the AppleInsider hosts. There are no substantiated specifications, prices, compatibility details, or confirmed availability here to compare.

Why the podcast attribution matters
The AppleInsider episode itself and a transcript were not located. The available contextual listing is from 9to5Mac Happy Hour, a different podcast, so it cannot establish what AppleInsider’s hosts said. Readers looking for that episode should not treat the related listing as its summary.
