Yes, Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake has voiced cutscenes. Nintendo also confirms expanded dialogue, symphonic orchestral music, overhauled visuals, enhanced controls, and modernized camera movement. It is listed as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, launching November 5, 2026, with physical and digital editions in the US.
What Nintendo has not confirmed is whether you can switch to the original Nintendo 64 soundtrack. What is known about the voice cast?
Nintendo has not published a cast list in the official materials currently available. There is no Nintendo-confirmed, character-by-character list establishing which characters speak, how much they speak, or whether every language version uses the same cast. Does expanded dialogue change the story?

The word “orchestral” should not be read as proof of a dual-track system. A remake can use orchestral arrangements as its only soundtrack, or it can offer multiple music modes, but Nintendo has not specified which approach this release takes.
What should returning players expect from the music?
Expect the game to present its music in a symphonic orchestral style rather than simply reproducing the Nintendo 64 audio presentation. When does the Ocarina of Time remake come out?
The announced release date is November 5, 2026. Nintendo’s US product listing and its September 9, 2026 announcement give that date for the Switch 2 release.

Playing or humming melodies through the Switch 2 microphone
A September 8, 2026 Nintendo of America announcement describes a microphone feature: players can play or hum learned ocarina melodies near the Switch 2 system microphone to trigger them in-game. This is an optional interaction tied to the system’s built-in microphone capability.
Nintendo’s materials do not establish that a separate physical ocarina is required, included, or sold with the game. They also do not describe recognition accuracy, supported languages, environmental limits, or whether every melody can be activated by humming. A compatible Switch 2 system is the task-enabling hardware; no separate instrument requirement has been announced.
Expanded character dialogue
Additional dialogue is one of the headline changes. It may provide more context around characters and events, but Nintendo has not released a full script comparison or quantified how many lines were added. Avoid treating “expanded” as a promise of a particular percentage increase.

Switch 2 edition, formats, and optional amiibo
The practical purchase choice at launch is between the physical and digital Switch 2 editions shown in Nintendo’s US store listing. Both are editions of the same Switch 2-exclusive remake. No official material says that either format has different voice acting, music, camera behavior, or controls.
Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo
Nintendo has announced Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo figures planned for 2027. Nintendo says these figures unlock special in-game masks. They are optional products and are not required to start, complete, or otherwise play the remake. Their announced 2027 timing is separate from the game’s November 5, 2026 release date.
Retailer stock, regional release timing, and final product details can change. Confirm those details with Nintendo or an authorized retailer before purchasing.

- Whether the original Nintendo 64 soundtrack can be selected.
- Whether any original N64 recordings are retained alongside the orchestral score.
- The complete voice cast and which characters receive spoken lines.
