The Dynatrace–AWS alliance is putting observability for agentic AI workloads in focus. Its clearest named example is Dynatrace’s integration with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, which Dynatrace said became generally available to AWS customers in November 2025. The integration is designed to trace agent activity, alert on key metrics, map agent-to-service interactions, debug workflows, and support governance oversight. A broader Dynatrace AI Observability app, announced as generally available in January 2026, covers multiple agent frameworks. These are vendor-described capabilities, not independently verified performance results.
What the Dynatrace–AWS alliance is focused on
The alliance’s current agentic AI angle is operational visibility: helping teams see how AI agents behave and interact with the services and tools they use in AWS environments. CRN reports that Dynatrace and AWS have worked together since 2014, that Dynatrace became available in AWS Marketplace in 2016, and that the companies announced a strategic partnership in March 2022. CRN also describes a multi-year strategic collaboration agreement covering technology and commercial work, including co-development, co-selling, and Marketplace activity. CRN’s alliance report does not provide a precise date for its Marketplace-sales milestone.
According to CRN, Dynatrace sales through AWS Marketplace recently crossed $1 billion, with about 75 percent of that total coming in the preceding two years. This is a reported channel-sales figure, not a measure of AgentCore observability adoption or agentic AI revenue.
What the AgentCore integration does
On November 18, 2025, Dynatrace announced that its integration with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore was generally available to AWS customers. Dynatrace describes it as a way to monitor agent reliability and responsiveness at trace level and to provide intelligent alerts on key metrics. The vendor also says teams can use a real-time map of agent-to-service interactions, debug distributed workflows, and oversee compliance and governance. Dynatrace’s announcement presents these as product capabilities; it does not establish comparative performance against other observability tools.

The practical purpose is to make an agent’s work less opaque: operators can inspect traces and connected services rather than treating an agent’s result as an isolated output. Dynatrace chief product officer Steve Tack described observability as a foundation for trust and innovation in agentic systems. That is an executive’s framing of the product’s role, not an independent finding.
How the broader AI Observability app fits
Dynatrace announced general availability of its AI Observability app on January 28, 2026. The company says the app supports Amazon Bedrock AgentCore and Strands, LangChain Agents, Google Agent Development Kit, OpenAI Agents SDK, and agents communicating through Model Context Protocol (MCP). It describes telemetry as unified through OpenTelemetry and OpenLLMetry. Dynatrace’s announcement says the app can track agent interactions, tool usage, dependencies, latency, reliability, token use, cost trends, and prompt/model traces.
Rank #2
This broader framework list positions the app as more than an AWS-only feature. For teams assessing fit, the relevant questions include which agent frameworks are in use, whether traces connect models with tools and cloud services, and whether the available views cover latency, reliability, token use, cost, debugging, and governance needs. The announcements describe Dynatrace’s capabilities but provide no independent comparative test or customer benchmark.

In the January 2026 post, Dynatrace called an Agentic Topology View its “next focus.” The company described a planned visualization of agent execution flows, tool calls, and propagated errors, connecting production telemetry with prompt management and evaluation. That announcement alone does not establish that the view is generally available.

Why observability is part of the alliance story
Agentic systems can involve chains of model calls, tools, and services. Seeing those interactions can help teams investigate failures and assess reliability, while visibility into usage and cost can inform operational decisions. CRN quotes Dynatrace senior vice president of partners and alliances Jay Snyder saying customers need confidence about what is happening with AI workloads; AWS managing director of technology partnerships Chris Grusz says decisions require visibility into what is going on. These comments explain the alliance’s stated rationale, but they are executive statements rather than independent evidence of outcomes.
Dynatrace’s January 2026 announcement of its vendor-sponsored Pulse of Agentic AI 2026 survey offers context on the challenges enterprises report. Y2 Analytics conducted and analyzed the survey on Dynatrace’s behalf in November and December 2025. The 919 respondents were senior leaders and decision-makers across the United States, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. In the survey, 52% cited security, privacy, or compliance concerns as a barrier to putting agentic AI into production; 51% cited technical challenges managing and monitoring agents at scale; and 69% reported using observability during agentic AI implementation. These are survey responses from the stated sample, not a census of all organizations. Dynatrace’s survey announcement provides the company’s account of the findings.
What else to know about Dynatrace’s AI observability work
The AWS collaboration is one part of Dynatrace’s broader AI observability activity. As of October 1, 2026, Dynatrace’s press-release index lists completion of its Arize acquisition and describes the deal as extending AI observability across the development lifecycle. The index entry supports that high-level description; it does not establish deal terms or specific product-integration details. Dynatrace’s press-release index lists the notice.

- Framework coverage: Confirm that the agents and frameworks your teams use are included in the announced support.
- Trace continuity: Check whether traces connect model activity to tools, dependencies, and cloud services across the workflows you need to diagnose.
- Operational signals: Identify whether latency, reliability, token use, and cost trends are visible at the level your teams need.
- Debugging and topology: Distinguish currently described features from roadmap items such as the planned Agentic Topology View.
- Governance and deployment fit: Assess audit and oversight requirements alongside whether your environment is AWS-centric or spans multiple clouds and frameworks.
Dynatrace’s product announcements describe functions in these areas, but the available material cited here does not provide an independent head-to-head evaluation.
