Spoiler warning: Third-party answer pages report these four Connections groups for Monday, October 5, 2026. The date and puzzle number have not been verified against the NYT game, so treat the answers below as unconfirmed until they appear in the official puzzle.

Want a nudge before the full solution? Start with the category clues below; the complete reported groups follow.

Category hints for the reported October 5 puzzle

  • One group describes a calm state or manner.
  • One group contains adjectives used to describe mature content.
  • One group names different kinds of boards.
  • The final group is wordplay: each word reportedly ends in a way to temporarily acquire something.

These are editorial paraphrases of the reported categories, not official NYT hints. The reported purple-category label is “Ending in ways to temporarily acquire”; the available answer page does not explain each construction, so that clue should be treated cautiously. Try Hard Guides

Is this definitely puzzle #1212?

No. The October 5 answer pages use #1212, but Wordle.today associates #1212 with July 17, 2026. The numbering discrepancy is unresolved, so the number should not be treated as official. Wordle.today
