Yes. NXP completed its acquisition of automotive connectivity provider Aviva Links on October 24, 2025, and announced the closing on October 28. The deal adds Aviva Links’ Automotive SerDes Alliance (ASA)-compliant in-vehicle networking technology to NXP’s automotive portfolio.
Did NXP acquire Aviva Links?
Yes. NXP announced a definitive agreement on December 17, 2024, and completed the purchase on October 24, 2025. Its completion announcement confirmed the closing four days later.
How much did NXP pay?
The published figures differ because they describe the deal at different stages and on different accounting bases. NXP announced an all-cash transaction valued at $242.5 million in 2024. Its 2025 closing release reported $243 million in cash before closing adjustments. In its 2025 Form 10-K, filed in 2026, NXP recorded $222 million in cash net of acquired cash, plus $26 million from settlement of investments it already held in Aviva Links. These figures should not be treated as interchangeable totals.
| Disclosure | Amount | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| December 17, 2024 agreement announcement | $242.5 million | Announced all-cash transaction value |
| October 28, 2025 completion announcement | $243 million | Cash before closing adjustments |
| 2025 Form 10-K, filed in 2026 | $222 million + $26 million | Cash net of acquired cash, plus settlement of previously held investments |
The original agreement amount and closing-release figure are transaction announcements; the Form 10-K breakdown is an accounting disclosure that separates net cash paid from the settlement of NXP’s existing investments.

What does Aviva Links make?
Aviva Links provides in-vehicle connectivity solutions compliant with the Automotive SerDes Alliance (ASA) standard. Its asymmetrical, multi-gigabit links are intended for moving data around vehicles, including for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), infotainment, cameras and displays.
The ASA was formed in 2019, and NXP is a founding member. NXP describes the alliance as supporting automakers’ shift toward open, interoperable networking for software-defined vehicles. ASA compliance identifies the technology’s standard alignment; it does not, by itself, establish adoption by particular automakers or prove commercial results.

Why did NXP buy Aviva Links?
NXP said the acquisition complements and expands its automotive networking portfolio and also supports opportunities in Industrial and IoT markets. The company positioned Aviva Links’ technology alongside its existing networking products, including CAN and LIN, Ethernet switches and physical-layer devices. NXP’s stated aim is to offer automakers a broader set of vehicle-networking solutions as vehicles add connected systems and software-defined capabilities.
In its December 2024 announcement, NXP cited its market intelligence forecast that the addressable market for ADAS and IVI asymmetrical links would grow from $1 billion in 2024 to $2 billion in 2034. That is NXP’s forecast, not an independently verified market outcome. The available transaction announcements and filing establish the acquisition and its rationale, but do not establish subsequent Aviva Links sales, customer adoption or market share attributable to the deal.

What changes for automakers and technology buyers?
The acquisition puts Aviva Links’ ASA-compliant connectivity technology within NXP’s portfolio. For automakers, the strategic significance is the possibility of sourcing this type of in-vehicle networking technology from a supplier that also offers other networking components. NXP described this as enabling more complete solutions directly to OEMs.
That is a statement of strategic intent, not evidence that every NXP networking component is integrated with Aviva Links technology or that a particular vehicle program has adopted it. The published materials do not identify customer deployments or quantify operational benefits from combining the businesses.
