NVIDIA reported $96.2 billion in fiscal second-quarter 2027 revenue, up 106% year over year, while its Data Center business grew 117%. The supplier in the headline is Foxconn, which Barron’s describes as NVIDIA’s AI server partner. Foxconn’s results may signal strength in AI infrastructure, but they are not NVIDIA revenue—and the accessible Barron’s summary does not provide Foxconn’s figure or comparison period.
Which supplier is the headline referring to?
It is Foxconn. Barron’s describes the company as NVIDIA’s artificial-intelligence server partner and interprets Foxconn’s results as a sign that NVIDIA may have momentum. That is a supplier read-through, not confirmation of NVIDIA orders, shipments, revenue, or profit. The accessible Barron’s page does not show the Foxconn revenue figure or the comparison period behind the headline.
Supplier revenue can reflect activity across customers, products, and periods. It should not be added to NVIDIA’s results or treated as a direct measure of NVIDIA’s sales.

What NVIDIA reported in fiscal Q2 2027
NVIDIA’s earnings release, issued August 26, 2026, covers the quarter ended July 26, 2026. The company reported:
#1 Best Overall
- AI Performance: 767 AI TOPS
- OC mode: 2632 MHz (OC mode)/ 2602 MHz (Default mode)
- Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
- Axial-tech fan design features a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- A 2.5-slot design maximizes compatibility and cooling efficiency for superior performance in small chassis
| Measure | Fiscal Q2 2027 result | Year-over-year change |
|---|---|---|
| Total revenue | $96.2 billion | Up 106% |
| Data Center revenue | $89.0 billion | Up 117% |
| GAAP gross margin | 75.0% | Not stated in the cited release summary |
| Net income | $59.688 billion | Not stated in the cited release summary |
| Diluted GAAP earnings per share | $2.46 | Not stated in the cited release summary |
Total revenue and Data Center revenue each rose 18% sequentially. Data Center is the central segment to watch when assessing whether demand for AI infrastructure is showing up in NVIDIA’s reported business. The margin, net income, and EPS figures are results for this quarter, not forecasts.

What NVIDIA expects next—and what it does not guarantee
For fiscal Q3 2027, NVIDIA guided to revenue of $108.0 billion, plus or minus 2%. The company said this outlook assumes no Data Center compute revenue from China. This is management guidance, not a result already earned; the quarter’s reported revenue will show how much of the outlook converted into sales.
CEO Jensen Huang characterized the opportunity this way: “AI has reached its inflection point. It’s doing useful work. Its tokens are productive and profitable. Now, compute is revenue.” That is management’s view of the market and its business, not an independent measurement of demand.

Why strong demand may not translate smoothly into revenue
NVIDIA disclosed $279 billion in supply and capacity commitments as of July 26, 2026, compared with $119 billion in the prior quarter. The company said these commitments are primarily related to memory and manufacturing facilities for data-center infrastructure systems. They indicate substantial commitments across the supply chain, but are not revenue already recognized or a guarantee of future sales.

In its fiscal Q2 2027 filing, NVIDIA also described risks that can affect the pace and economics of delivering systems:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- Demand estimates may be inaccurate, and production needs or system complexity can cause delays, supply-demand challenges, quality issues, lower yields, or higher costs.
- Customers may defer purchases if infrastructure or funding is unavailable.
- Shortages of land, power, data-center shells, or capital can affect customer deployments and future revenue.
These constraints matter because AI infrastructure must be manufactured, supplied, installed, powered, funded, and deployed before demand becomes recognized revenue.

The evidence supports a strong operating-growth story: NVIDIA reported rapid revenue growth, particularly in Data Center, and issued a higher next-quarter revenue outlook. Foxconn’s results offer a possible supplier-side signal of AI infrastructure activity, but the available Barron’s summary does not provide the underlying Foxconn number needed to judge its scale or period.
The exact NVIDIA closing price and record-high benchmark for October 5, 2026 were not independently verified in the available sources. Without a confirmed price and comparison point, a precise claim about the close, percentage gain, or market capitalization would be unwarranted. The headline’s stock-market framing should therefore be kept separate from the company’s reported quarterly results and its forward guidance.
