NVIDIA’s March 16–19, 2026 GTC in San Jose is over. Its biggest announcements spanned data-center AI, gaming graphics, agent software, and robotics; the next scheduled keynote is Jensen Huang’s GTC Berlin address on October 21. A separate DGX Spark update arrived in October, but it was not a GTC announcement.
What happened at GTC 2026?
NVIDIA’s San Jose conference ran March 16–19. The company’s March 3 preview said it expected more than 30,000 attendees from over 190 countries and announced more than 1,000 sessions; those were advance figures, not independently verified final attendance. NVIDIA’s keynote coverage later reported 450+ sponsors, 1,000 sessions, and 2,000 speakers. These counts are company-reported. NVIDIA’s event preview and keynote recap provide its account of the event.
The central theme was AI infrastructure across the stack, rather than a single chip launch. NVIDIA’s recap says Huang described AI as a five-layer stack and noted CUDA’s 20th anniversary. The announcements covered data-center systems, inference, software and models for AI agents, gaming graphics, robotics, and other physical-AI applications. That is NVIDIA’s framing of its own event.
What were the biggest announcements?
Vera Rubin: large-scale AI infrastructure
Announced on March 16, Vera Rubin is a seven-chip platform designed for large AI systems, spanning training through agentic inference. NVIDIA’s release describes multiple rack-scale systems: Vera Rubin GPU racks, Vera CPU racks, Groq 3 LPX inference accelerator racks, BlueField-4 STX storage racks, and Spectrum-6 SPX Ethernet racks. NVIDIA said partner products were planned for the second half of 2026; that is an announced availability plan, not confirmation of shipping systems. Read NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin announcement.

- AI Performance: 767 AI TOPS
- OC mode: 2632 MHz (OC mode)/ 2602 MHz (Default mode)
- Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
- Axial-tech fan design features a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- A 2.5-slot design maximizes compatibility and cooling efficiency for superior performance in small chassis
This is data-center and AI-factory infrastructure, not a GeForce graphics card or a typical desktop upgrade. NVIDIA’s performance and efficiency claims in the announcement should be understood as vendor claims, not independently established results. Its broader press kit also highlighted the Vera Rubin DSX AI Factory reference design, Omniverse DSX Blueprint, and BlueField-4 STX. NVIDIA’s GTC press kit lists the company’s other announcements.
DLSS 5: the most direct gaming story
NVIDIA announced DLSS 5 on March 16 as a real-time neural-rendering feature. Its description says the model uses a game frame’s color and motion vectors to add lighting and materials, and that it can operate up to 4K. NVIDIA announced a fall 2026 arrival and named developers and publishers including Bethesda, CAPCOM, Hotta Studio, NetEase, NCSOFT, S-GAME, Tencent, Ubisoft, and Warner Bros. Games. It also listed titles such as Starfield, Resident Evil Requiem, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and Hogwarts Legacy. These are announced support plans, not proof that the feature is already available in each game. See NVIDIA’s DLSS 5 announcement.

- Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
- Powered by GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
- Integrated with 16GB GDDR7 256bit memory interface
- PCIe 5.0
- WINDFORCE cooling system
The reviewed release does not establish which GPU models will support DLSS 5. Even though NVIDIA references GeForce RTX 5090 in its graphics history, that does not confirm compatibility for the 5090 or any other specific card. Gamers should wait for an official compatibility list before making an upgrade decision.

NVIDIA’s coverage also highlighted NemoClaw and OpenShell for enterprise agent controls, the Nemotron Coalition and open-model ecosystem, and activity in robotics, robotaxis, telecom, and industrial applications. The announcements help explain the event’s emphasis on deploying AI systems beyond chat interfaces, but descriptions of capabilities and impact come from NVIDIA. The company’s press kit includes its full list across agentic AI, automotive, telecom, robotics, and industrial partnerships. View the GTC 2026 announcement list.

What is the next NVIDIA GTC event?
As of October 5, 2026, GTC Berlin is the next scheduled event on the official pages reviewed. Workshops are listed for October 20, with the conference and expo on October 21–22. Jensen Huang’s keynote is scheduled for October 21, 11 a.m.–1 p.m. CEST at Berlin’s Tempodrom, with a livestream option. The keynote is still upcoming, so its announcements are not yet known. Check NVIDIA’s GTC event page for the schedule and access details.

Related NVIDIA news outside GTC
On October 2, NVIDIA announced a DGX Spark 64GB configuration, with partner availability starting October 23 and a stated starting price of $4,999. NVIDIA describes the compact local-AI system for agents, inference, fine-tuning, data science, and edge development, and says two units can be clustered. The availability and price are company-published and may change. This is timely NVIDIA hardware news, but it was announced months after GTC San Jose and should not be counted among that conference’s announcements. Read NVIDIA’s DGX Spark 64GB post.
