The Nothing Phone (4b) and Motorola moto g max 5G make different trade-offs: Nothing lists a 6.77-inch Super AMOLED display and 8 GB of RAM, while Motorola lists a 7,000 mAh battery and a 6.72-inch 120 Hz LCD. There is no like-for-like independent test here to establish which is faster, takes better photos, or lasts longer in real use. Price also depends on the market: the available India comparison snapshot puts the Motorola lower, while official Nothing pages list prices for the UK and Germany.

How the displays differ
The clearest listed distinction is panel technology. Nothing specifies a 6.77-inch Super AMOLED screen with adaptive 120 Hz refresh; Motorola specifies a slightly smaller 6.72-inch Full HD+ LCD at 120 Hz. Both list a high refresh rate, but the panels are not equivalent: the Nothing model is the one to consider if AMOLED is a priority. Nothing describes its screen as offering “bright, clear and responsive visuals”; that is the manufacturer’s product description, not an independent display test.
Battery capacity is not a runtime test
The moto g max has the largest stated capacity at 7,000 mAh. Nothing lists 5,200 mAh for its global variant and 6,000 mAh for India, so check the exact regional version before comparing. These figures describe capacity only; they do not establish how many hours either phone lasts under the same use, network conditions, brightness, or software settings.
Camera hardware: what the specifications establish
Both phones list a 50 MP main camera. Nothing specifies optical image stabilization, while Motorola identifies a Sony LYTIA 600 main sensor. For ultra-wide shots, Nothing lists a 119-degree field of view; Motorola lists an 8 MP ultra-wide camera with a 119.5-degree field of view. The specifications do not show which phone produces better photos or video, so a camera-quality winner cannot be inferred from resolution or sensor details alone.

Chipset, RAM, and storage
The processor names are similar but refer to different chips: Nothing lists Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, and Motorola lists Snapdragon 6s Gen 4. Nothing’s cited launch information describes an 8 GB memory configuration, compared with Motorola’s listed 6 GB LPDDR5X configuration. Both cited configurations have 128 GB of storage, but Motorola specifies UFS 3.1 storage. These component listings do not substitute for comparable performance testing, so they are not enough to declare one phone faster.
Durability and software updates
Motorola lists IP64 water resistance and Gorilla Glass 7i on the front, as well as two OS upgrades and three years of security maintenance releases. Those are the documented commitments in its support specifications. A secondary comparison listing reports three OS years and six security years for Nothing, but the official Nothing sources cited here do not confirm that duration. Treat that Nothing update figure as unverified rather than as a confirmed commitment.

Price difference depends on the market
Do not compare prices across currencies as if they were equivalent checkout offers. Nothing’s official pages list £299 for the 8 GB / 128 GB configuration in the UK and €329 for that configuration in Germany. Its community announcement gives launch pricing of £299, €329, and ₹29,999 for 8 GB / 128 GB; Indian higher-storage options and promotional conditions may differ. Check the live local listing for the price and configuration actually available.
For India, Gadgets Now’s comparison page updated August 18, 2026 listed ₹31,294 for Nothing Phone (4b) and ₹26,999 for moto g max 5G, a ₹4,295 difference in that snapshot. This is a secondary comparison-site listing, not a guaranteed current sale price. Motorola’s support specification page does not establish a retail price, and the listing may not reflect current stock or offers.

Which phone should you choose?
- Consider Nothing Phone (4b) if the listed Super AMOLED display is your priority, or if you want the cited 8 GB / 128 GB configuration. Confirm the battery capacity for your region and verify the software-support duration with an official local source.
- Consider moto g max 5G if the larger stated 7,000 mAh capacity, Motorola’s documented IP64 and front-glass specifications, or its stated update commitment matter more to you.
- Compare local checkout prices for the same market and storage tier before buying. A lower snapshot price does not by itself prove better value if the configurations or current offers differ.
Motorola says specifications may vary by market. Before purchase, confirm the exact regional SKU, network-band compatibility, warranty, storage tier, and current price with the seller or manufacturer.
