The TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G leads on listed battery capacity and screen refresh rate, while the Nothing Phone (3a) has a dedicated 2× optical-zoom telephoto camera and a stated software-support commitment. A reliable price difference cannot be calculated from the available official listings: Nothing shows a European price, but TECNO’s specification page does not list one.

Where the POVA 8 Pro 5G has the specification advantage

Higher listed refresh rate and resolution

TECNO lists a display refresh rate of up to 144 Hz, compared with 120 Hz for Nothing. Its listed resolution is also higher: 2644 × 1208 versus 1080 × 2392. These figures describe the spec sheets; they do not by themselves establish which screen looks better or how smooth either phone feels in use. The retrieved specifications do not provide a directly comparable brightness result.

Larger listed battery capacity

The POVA 8 Pro 5G’s 6500 mAh battery is 1500 mAh larger on paper than the Phone (3a)’s 5000 mAh battery. Capacity alone does not establish how long a phone lasts between charges; actual endurance depends on usage and other factors, and no comparable battery-life test is available here.

Processor comparison is not a performance verdict

The official listings name a Dimensity 7400 Ultimate clocked up to 2.6 GHz for TECNO and a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 clocked up to 2.5 GHz for Nothing. Those labels and maximum clock rates are not enough to determine which phone performs better. No comparable independent benchmark or real-world performance test is available here.

Where the Nothing Phone (3a) stands out

Dedicated telephoto camera

Nothing lists a 50 MP telephoto camera with 2× optical zoom alongside the Phone (3a)’s main and ultra-wide cameras. TECNO lists a 50 MP OIS main camera and an 8 MP ultra-wide camera; its retrieved specifications do not list a telephoto camera. This is a hardware distinction, not proof that the Phone (3a) takes better photos. Megapixel counts also cannot establish image quality on their own.

Published update commitment

Nothing states that the Phone (3a) will receive three years of Android updates and six years of security patches. TECNO’s retrieved specification page does not state a support duration. That absence is not evidence that TECNO provides no support or a shorter term; verify the policy for the exact regional model before buying if update longevity matters.

Documented IP rating

Nothing lists an IP64 rating for the Phone (3a). The retrieved TECNO specification page does not state an IP rating, which does not establish that the POVA 8 Pro 5G has no protection rating.

What is the price difference?

A dependable price difference cannot be stated from the official listings available here. Nothing’s European page lists the Phone (3a) at €329 and identifies 8+128 GB and 12+256 GB options. That is a European listing, not a universal or verified price for every configuration or market. TECNO’s official specifications page does not list a price, so there is no like-for-like amount to subtract.

Which phone should you choose?

  • Consider the POVA 8 Pro 5G if its higher listed refresh rate or larger battery capacity is your priority, and its local price and regional compatibility suit you.
  • Consider the Phone (3a) if you want a dedicated 2× optical-zoom telephoto camera or value its stated Android and security-update commitment.
  • Check your carrier and country before ordering. Both manufacturers list NFC and Wi-Fi 6, but supported 4G and 5G bands can depend on the exact market and variant. Nothing’s page lists bands; the retrieved TECNO page gives general network-generation information rather than a complete regional band list.

Neither spec sheet establishes a universal winner: the best fit depends on your priorities, local price, and exact regional model.

What comes in the Phone (3a) box?

Nothing’s European product page lists the phone, a USB-C cable, a pre-applied screen protector, a SIM eject tool, and a safety card. It does not mention a power adapter in the listed contents. Check the package details for your region rather than assuming what accessories are included.
