Display: Nothing has the sharper, higher-resolution panel
Both phones are listed with displays around 6.7 inches and refresh rates up to 120Hz, but the panel types and resolutions differ. The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite’s AMOLED screen is listed at 1080 × 2392; the vivo Y51 Pro 5G’s LCD is listed at 1570 × 720. On those published specifications, Nothing offers substantially more resolution and an AMOLED panel. Resolution and panel type do not establish brightness, outdoor readability, color accuracy, or viewing quality in practice.

The Nothing comparison lists three rear cameras: a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro. vivo lists a 50MP + 2MP rear setup and an 8MP front camera; the comparison lists a 16MP front camera for Nothing. The extra ultra-wide option gives Nothing a listed camera type that vivo’s published setup does not include. Megapixel counts and camera count alone cannot predict image quality, so treat this as a difference in listed versatility rather than proof that one takes better photos.

Battery and charging: vivo has the larger stated capacity
vivo specifies a 7200mAh typical-capacity battery and 44W charging. 91mobiles lists 5000mAh and 33W for the Nothing phone. Those ratings favor vivo on stated capacity and charging power, but they do not establish how long either phone lasts in everyday use or how long a full charge takes; those outcomes depend on usage and charging conditions. vivo’s product page describes the battery as a “7200 mAh Battery with AI Sleep Mode for Extended Life”; that is manufacturer wording, not an independent endurance result.
Protection and weight: vivo rates higher, Nothing is lighter
91mobiles lists IP54 for Nothing and vivo advertises IP68/IP69 for the Y51 Pro 5G. These are different protection ratings, not a guarantee that either phone is damage-proof. vivo cautions that water resistance can degrade over time, instructs users to dry the USB port before connecting or charging, and limits the conditions for underwater photography. Follow the manufacturer’s care instructions rather than treating the rating as permission for unrestricted water use.
The same comparison lists Nothing at 199g and vivo at 219g; vivo’s store also specifies 219g. The Nothing phone is therefore the lighter of the two by the listed figures.
Software and update support
The comparison lists Android 15 with Nothing OS for Nothing and Android 16 with OriginOS for vivo. Nothing’s official India product page identifies Nothing OS 3.5. The reviewed product pages do not establish a comparable software-update support duration for these models, so the version labels alone should not be read as evidence that one will receive updates for longer.
Price difference: compare the same channel and configuration
In the snapshot displayed by 91mobiles, the Amazon price shown for the Nothing Phone (3a) Lite was ₹28,240 and the Amazon price shown for the vivo Y51 Pro 5G was ₹32,499. That makes the vivo listing ₹4,259 higher in that snapshot. These are time-sensitive marketplace listings, not fixed prices; seller, stock, configuration, and price can change.
Separately, vivo’s India E-Store listed the Y51 Pro 5G 8GB/128GB in Noble Gold at ₹34,999 inclusive of taxes and marked that selected configuration unavailable. The store also lists an 8GB/256GB option. Nothing’s official India product page showed an 8GB/128GB selection and a Flipkart link, but no price in the captured page. The official-store vivo amount and the 91mobiles Amazon listings are different channels and should not be combined as a like-for-like price comparison. Check the live listing, seller, stock status, and exact memory variant before buying.
Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Nothing Phone (3a) Lite if
- You prefer the listed AMOLED display at 1080 × 2392 over an LCD at 1570 × 720.
- You want an ultra-wide rear camera in addition to main and macro cameras.
- You value the lower listed weight.
Consider the vivo Y51 Pro 5G if
- You prioritize its 7200mAh typical battery specification and 44W rated charging.
- You want the higher advertised IP68/IP69 rating and are prepared to follow vivo’s water-care guidance.
- You need the listed 8GB/256GB storage option, which is not shown for the Nothing phone in the reviewed pages.
