The Nothing Headphone (1) Pro is a feature-packed wireless over-ear headphone with an unusual three-driver design, adaptive noise cancellation and several ways to connect. Nothing’s specifications make it look capable on paper; the available independent coverage is more limited, so buyers should treat the headline performance figures as manufacturer claims rather than proven advantages over Sony or other premium rivals.

What is the Nothing Headphone (1) Pro?

It is a 327 g wireless over-ear headphone built around three drivers: a 40 mm bass dynamic driver, a 13 × 8 mm precision dynamic driver and a 3.2 × 6.0 × 1.15 mm solid-state xMEMS treble driver. Nothing’s product page lists adaptive active noise cancellation (ANC), spatial audio with head tracking, Personal Sound, Flat EQ, tactile controls, multipoint Bluetooth, auto-wear detection and IP52 dust and water resistance. These features describe what is offered, not a guarantee of sound quality, comfort or noise reduction in every situation. See Nothing’s Headphone (1) Pro product page for the official specifications.

How good are its noise cancellation and battery life?

Nothing rates the adaptive ANC at up to 46 dB. That is a manufacturer-stated maximum, not an independent measurement or a promise that all noise will be removed. How much noise you notice can depend on fit, the sound around you and the type of noise.

Nothing’s battery figures are also maximums from internal tests conducted at 25°C and 50% volume under default conditions. Actual playback varies with use, including codec and ANC settings.

Nothing Headphone (1) Pro Noise Cancelling Headphone, Triple Driver, Hi-Res
  • Triple Driver Architecture: Experience balanced, detailed audio with Nothing Headphone (1) Pro wireless headphones, built around a dedicated three-driver system featuring a 40 mm bass driver, precision driver, and treble XMEMS driver. Each driver is engineered to handle part of the frequency range, working together to unlock deeper bass, sharper vocals and richer textures across music, gaming, and more.
  • Certified Hi-Res Audio for wireless and wired listening: Enjoy high-quality wireless audio with LDAC, or connect via USB-C for lossless, high-fidelity playback at up to 24-bit/192 kHz.
  • 10-Mic Real-time Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation: Nothing Headphone (1) Pro delivers up to 46 dB of Active Noise Cancellation with 10 microphones and a new silicone sound seal. Ten microphones monitor your surroundings and automatically adjust noise cancellation in real time to reduce unwanted background noise. A new 8 mm silicone wall baffle wall inside the ear cushion provides passive isolation, while Transparency Mode lets you hear your surroundings when needed.
  • Studio-Level Tuning with Metropolis Studios: Nothing partnered with Metropolis Studios, home to some of the world’s most influential audio engineers, to bring studio-level tools to Nothing Headphone (1) Pro noise cancelling headphone. Listen to the raw track with Flat EQ for reviewing music, producing or mixing, discover new EQ Profiles and feel what it's like to listen in a recording studio through a unique Dynamic Spatial Audio mode.
  • Spatial Audio & Advanced EQ: Dynamic Spatial Audio has five modes: Standard, Studio B, Live House, Club and Concert Hall. Advanced EQ gives you precise control over your sound, letting you drag tuning points across multiple drivers.
Playback mode Nothing’s stated maximum Qualification
AAC, ANC off Up to 68 hours Nothing’s internal test at 25°C and 50% volume under default conditions
AAC, ANC on Up to 30 hours Same manufacturer test conditions
LDAC, ANC off Up to 53 hours Nothing’s support specification; actual use varies
LDAC, ANC on Up to 28 hours Nothing’s support specification; actual use varies

Nothing’s Headphone (1) Pro support page gives further battery and product information. The AAC and LDAC figures should not be treated as interchangeable: they describe different codec conditions.

What connections and audio formats does it support?

The Headphone (1) Pro supports Bluetooth 6.1 and AAC, SBC and LDAC audio codecs. It can also connect by USB-C or the included 3.5 mm cable. Nothing lists USB-C lossless audio up to 192 kHz/24-bit and AUX Hi-Res audio up to 96 kHz/24-bit. These are supported formats, not a guarantee that every track will play at those rates: the source device, app, file and connection all matter.

For wireless listening, LDAC support may be useful with a compatible source, while AAC and SBC offer other Bluetooth options. For wired use, choose USB-C or the analog 3.5 mm connection according to your source device and listening setup.

How does it compare with the Sony WH-1000XM6?

TechRadar’s September 29, 2026 review places the Headphone (1) Pro in the premium headphone field and compares it with Sony’s WH-1000XM6. Its headline describes the Nothing model as “a strange case, but sonically not without merit.” That is one publication’s assessment, not a consensus or a controlled head-to-head result. Read the TechRadar review for its evaluation.

TechRadar reported a price of $399 in the US and £349 in the UK at review time. Its Australian price is inconsistent within the article: the prose gives approximately AU$655, while its comparison table gives approximately AU$699. Neither figure should be treated as a definitive current Australian price; check local retailers before buying. The available comparison evidence does not establish a controlled test of ANC, comfort, calls or battery life against the Sony, so specifications alone cannot determine which is the better choice for you.

To make a fair purchase comparison, check the current price in your region and compare comfort, noise cancellation, sound and EQ controls, call quality, codecs and wired options, battery life under similar codec and ANC settings, included accessories and replacement-part availability. The available evidence does not provide comparable results for these areas across both models.

Who should consider the Headphone (1) Pro?

It is worth considering if you want an over-ear model with multiple wired and wireless listening options, LDAC support, a substantial feature set and a case included. Its three-driver configuration and listed high-resolution wired formats may appeal to buyers interested in the hardware and connection flexibility, but neither specification alone proves that it will sound better than a competing headphone.

If ANC performance, long-wear comfort, microphone quality or value against the Sony WH-1000XM6 is decisive, seek a direct review or try both models before choosing. The available review evidence supports an individual favorable-but-qualified sonic assessment, not a universal recommendation or verified performance win. Nothing also says its UK product page may be adjusted across batches to reflect product performance, specifications, indexes and components, so confirm the exact market listing before purchase.
