Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale is a limited-time summer event featuring new fall arrivals at sale prices; Nordstrom’s regular sale and designer-clearance assortments are separate, year-round deal categories. The 2026 Anniversary Sale ran July 18–August 9 and has ended. Its early access was available to Nordstrom cardmembers on staggered dates by Nordy Club tier.
How the Anniversary Sale differs from Nordstrom’s regular sale
The main difference is the event and the merchandise positioning. Nordstrom presents the Anniversary Sale as a fixed-window opportunity to shop new-season fall styles and beauty products at special prices. Its regular sale page features select styles, while designer clearance is identified as another category. Those assortments are separate from the Anniversary Sale, rather than different names for the same event. That distinction does not establish that every Anniversary Sale item is new, that every regular-sale item is older, or that the event always offers the lowest price. Nordstrom’s published information does not provide a like-for-like price comparison between Anniversary Sale and ordinary sale merchandise, so compare the specific item, price, and terms before buying.
When was the 2026 Anniversary Sale, and who got early access?
The 2026 public sale ran July 18 through August 9. Nordstrom’s official FAQ says the event has wrapped up. Cardmembers received early access by Nordy Club tier: Icons from July 14–17, Ambassadors from July 15–17, and Influencers from July 16–17. Nordstrom says card applications are subject to credit approval. Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale FAQ lists the access dates; its 2026 press gallery also gives the public sale dates.

Dates change from year to year. For comparison, Nordstrom announced the 2025 public sale for July 12–August 3, with cardmember early access July 8–11 based on Nordy Club status. Those prior-year dates are historical, not a guide to the next sale. Nordstrom’s 2025 announcement also described more than 100 brands and 1,400 events for that year only; those figures should not be assumed for 2026 or a future event.
What does the Anniversary Sale include?
Nordstrom’s 2026 materials identify apparel, shoes, beauty, kids, and home among the event categories. The FAQ also highlights jeans, coats and jackets, wardrobe basics such as T-shirts and underwear, and larger personal-care sizes in Beauty Exclusives. Sweaters are described as versatile fall layering pieces. These examples can help you decide what to look for, but the exact styles, sizes, offers, and availability depend on the event assortment and inventory. How to shop the event without relying on a deal claim
Before the sale opens
- Preview the assortment and make a wish list. Nordstrom encourages shoppers to preview the sale and save items in advance. This can make it easier to find the products you want when the event begins. Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale page is the official starting point.
- Check access eligibility and dates. Early access requires a Nordstrom card and follows the tier dates Nordstrom publishes for that year. If you are considering applying for a card, Nordstrom says applications are subject to credit approval.
When buying
- Verify the item, price, size, and availability. A saved item is not a guarantee of stock or a particular offer; check the listing when you are ready to purchase.
- Choose the fulfillment option that fits your location and order. Nordstrom lists free shipping and returns, curbside pickup and returns, expedited shipping, same-day delivery in select areas, and international shipping. Availability and terms can depend on the item, destination, and current policies. Its FAQ also recommends online shopping for selection and offers free stylist help.
Nordstrom cautions in its FAQ that “The Anniversary Sale is our most popular event, and our stores will be very busy.” Planning ahead can help, but neither that statement nor the event’s limited duration means that a particular item is certain to sell out.

Which option should you choose?
- Choose the Anniversary Sale when it is running if you are shopping for fall arrivals or the event’s seasonal categories and can find a suitable item at a price and terms you accept.
- Check regular sale and designer clearance at other times if you want to browse Nordstrom’s other discounted assortments rather than wait for a single summer event.
- Compare the specific offer, not just the label. The available official information does not establish that Anniversary Sale prices are always lower than ordinary sale prices.
