The Ninja CrushBOSS can take much of the vegetable prep off your hands, but only if you buy the right configuration. The model that lists an automatic dicing kit is the 4-in-1 LB451BK1. The 3-in-1 LB401 does not include one. Whether the system is “perfect” is not something the available evidence establishes. The manufacturer makes vegetable-prep claims, and the one hands-on review we can cite reports mixed results. It is a strong candidate for anyone who would rather use a food processor and dicer than a knife, with the storage and cleanup costs that come with a multi-part system.

SharkNinja sells several CrushBOSS configurations under one family name, and they are not interchangeable if chopping is your main concern. The two official listings compared here differ in one important way.

How it handles vegetable prep
For chopping, the blender pitcher is not the main tool. The vegetable-prep case rests on the food processor and the dicing kit, which is why the 3-in-1 model matters so much for this purpose.

The food processor and dicing kit
The manufacturer lists chopping, slicing, pureeing, and precision dicing functions. It also lists a multi-blade disc for slicing, shredding, and crinkle cutting. The listing includes this line about the feed chute: “The XL feed chute can handle whole ingredients & smart programs deliver consistent results.” That is SharkNinja’s marketing copy for the LB451BK1 product page, not an independent finding.

The same official page gives two timing figures for dicing. In the product details it says “Dice 3 potatoes in just 30 seconds with fast, even automatic dicing,” and farther down it says “Dice 3 potatoes in 15 seconds*.” The two figures do not match, and the listing as checked does not explain the potato size or test conditions behind either one. Treat both as manufacturer claims, and do not treat either as a settled specification until SharkNinja clarifies the discrepancy. Neither figure should be read as evidence that the system saves time compared with a knife or a conventional food processor.

What a hands-on reviewer found
TechRadar published a hands-on review of the CrushBOSS on August 29, 2026. The reviewer reports two results from the blending side:
- Smoothie: A frozen fruit and juice smoothie made with SmoothSense came out well.
- Frozen yogurt: A mix of frozen fruit and yogurt stayed chunky. The reviewer noted that more liquid, scraping down the sides, or one more blend could have helped.
The same review describes the many components as potentially intimidating and points to the storage and washing burden of a multi-part kitchen system. This is one reviewer’s experience, not a broad user survey, and the review does not report on the dicing kit’s results in the material checked for this article.

Trade-offs to weigh
- Storage and cleaning: A pitcher, a processor bowl, a tumbler, a dicing kit, and several blade assemblies take more counter and cabinet space and more washing than a single blender jar. This is the cost that reviewers raise most directly.
- Dicing is a 4-in-1 feature: If you buy the 3-in-1 LB401 to save money, you lose the dicing kit listed for the LB451BK1.
- Frozen blends need attention: The reviewer’s frozen yogurt result suggests that thick, frozen mixtures may need added liquid and a second pass.
- Manufacturer claims are unverified: The chopping, dicing, and feed-chute statements come from SharkNinja. They describe what the product is designed to do, not how it performs against your own kitchen routine.

Prices and bundles change, so compare the live price for the exact model number before buying. Buying checklist
- Confirm the model number is LB451BK1 if you want the automatic dicing kit.
- Check the box or listing for the full list of inclusions, including all blade assemblies and the tumbler.
- Measure the counter and cabinet space you can give to a multi-part system.
- Compare the live price against the two prices shown on the manufacturer listing.
- If you mostly make smoothies and soups, a single blender may be enough. The food processor and dicing parts are what justify the extra components.
The CrushBOSS is best suited to people who want a food processor and automatic dicing in the same base as a blender. The evidence supports that it is designed for vegetable prep, but it does not show that it removes chopping entirely or outperforms a knife in your kitchen.
