The Ninja Crispi MW101 is a microwave and air fryer in one countertop appliance, with an automatic microwave-then-air-fry setting called FusionCrisp. That combination can make reheating and crisping convenient, but the MW101 is large, its 0.9-cubic-foot advertised chamber is moderate, and independent testing found its air-fry performance less convincing than its microwave function. It makes the most sense if you will use both modes and have room for a substantial appliance.
What the Ninja Crispi MW101 does
The MW101 combines microwave heating with convection cooking and air frying. SharkNinja specifies 1000 watts of microwave input and 1700 watts of convection/air-fry input. Its FusionCrisp setting starts by microwaving food, then automatically switches to air frying to finish the exterior. The idea is to warm food quickly and add crispness without transferring it between appliances.
SharkNinja calls it a 14-in-1 appliance: eight microwave presets, five air-fry presets, and FusionCrisp. Those are the manufacturer’s listed functions, not independent confirmation that every preset produces a distinct or consistently optimal result. The MW101 is the countertop microwave-and-air-fryer model; it is not the separate portable Crispi FN101.

How well does it cook?
Microwave heating
RTINGS reported quick microwave heating and straightforward controls in its model-specific testing. This is the stronger part of the MW101’s case for someone who wants a microwave first and an air-fry option as a bonus. Read the RTINGS MW101 review for its test findings and methodology.
Air frying and FusionCrisp
The air-fry results are more mixed. RTINGS found that preheating was slow and that the appliance had difficulty maintaining a steady temperature. Homes & Gardens, by contrast, reported crisp frozen nuggets and wedges, and vegetables cooked in just over 20 minutes compared with 40–45 minutes in that reviewer’s oven. These are observations from separate publications under their own test conditions, not a guarantee for every recipe or a direct head-to-head comparison.

FusionCrisp is the distinctive convenience feature: the microwave-to-air-fry transition is automatic, so a user need not manually change appliances mid-cook. But that workflow does not remove the air-fry trade-offs reported by RTINGS. If precise, steady air-frying is your priority, those findings deserve more weight than the mode count.

The flatbed design has no rotating turntable, which removes the need for a plate to spin and can accommodate some rectangular dishes. RTINGS lists the advertised capacity as 0.9 cubic feet and measured the chamber at 0.88 cubic feet. It is a moderate-size microwave cavity, and the reviewer notes that larger containers can still be limiting.

SharkNinja lists the appliance at 20.3 × 17.56 × 14.1 inches and 41.01 pounds. Homes & Gardens said it occupied much of the reviewer’s counter. Measure the intended space, including room to open the door and access the controls, before buying; its ability to replace two appliances does not make it compact.
The box includes 5.5-quart CleanCrisp glassware, a crisper plate, and a recipe book. SharkNinja says the included glassware and plate are dishwasher-safe. It also says other Crispi glassware can be used in this microwave in microwave mode only; Air Fry and FusionCrisp require MW101 glassware. Do not assume cookware from the separate FN101 or another Crispi model supports those modes.

How does it compare with other countertop microwaves?
The MW101 is best judged as a combination appliance, not simply by its microwave capacity. RTINGS describes the GE JES1109RRSS and Panasonic HomeMADE NN-CD66NS as options with a larger chamber and/or additional cooking modes. The Breville Smooth Wave has a larger chamber but is not the same microwave-plus-air-fryer combination. Exact specifications and local model availability can vary, so confirm the precise model before comparing.

Is the Ninja Crispi MW101 worth it?
Consider the MW101 if you regularly use both a microwave and an air fryer, want one appliance to handle the microwave-to-crisp sequence, and can spare the counter space. The flatbed may also suit you if you often use rectangular dishes that are awkward on a turntable.
Look elsewhere if you mainly need a microwave with a roomy cavity, want a small countertop footprint, or expect air-fry temperature control to be its strongest feature. RTINGS’ preheat and temperature findings make it difficult to recommend as a straightforward air-fryer upgrade; the positive Homes & Gardens results show that some foods can still come out crisp.
On the US SharkNinja page, the MW101 was listed at $399.99, reduced from $449.99, on October 7, 2026, with a one-year limited warranty. That is a dated manufacturer-page price, not a durable MSRP or a market-wide quote; check the listing for the price and warranty terms where you shop.
