The Nikon Z7’s original U.S. launch suggested retail price was $3,399.95 for the body alone in 2018, but that is not its current cost. In U.S. used listings observed in 2026, B&H Photo Video showed individual examples at $949.95 and $989.95. Those are seller-specific asking prices—not a market average—and condition, warranty, included items, and delivery costs all affect the value.
How much does the Nikon Z7 cost?
There is no single current price established by these listings. The figures below distinguish the Z7’s historic launch prices from individual used-camera examples. Asking prices can change, and a body-only listing is not directly comparable to a kit that includes a lens.
| Price evidence | What it represents |
|---|---|
| $3,399.95 | Nikon USA’s 2018 suggested retail price for the Z7 body only. This is a historical launch price, not today’s price. Nikon USA noted that actual prices are set by dealers and may change. |
| $3,999.95 | Nikon USA’s 2018 launch suggested retail price for the Z7 with the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S lens. The $600 difference from the body-only launch price reflects the kit lens. Nikon USA |
| $949.95 | A B&H Photo Video used listing observed in 2026, graded condition 8, with a stated 90-day B&H warranty. This is one listing, not a typical or guaranteed transaction price. B&H Photo Video |
| $989.95 | A separate B&H Photo Video used listing observed in 2026, graded condition 8+, also with a stated 90-day B&H warranty. Check the live listing for availability and full terms. B&H Photo Video |
| £784 and £817 | UK listing examples observed in 2026: £784 for a good-condition MPB listing and £817 for a Wex listing, as reported by Camera Price Buster. These UK prices are not a U.S. benchmark. |
The available listings provide examples, not a reliable average of completed sales across sellers, conditions, and regions. Treat any advertised amount as a snapshot and confirm the price and terms before buying.

It may be a good fit if you want a high-resolution full-frame camera and can find a body whose condition, included accessories, and seller terms suit your needs. Nikon lists the original Z7 with a 45.7-megapixel effective-resolution FX-format sensor, a 493-point hybrid autofocus system, five-axis in-body sensor-shift vibration reduction, and full-frame 4K UHD video. Nikon also specifies up to approximately 9 frames per second in an extended high-speed mode, subject to shooting-mode and file-type conditions. Nikon’s Z7 specifications
#1 Best Overall
- Every little detail matters. 45.7MP. Powerful AF performance. NIKKOR Z lenses. Intuitive functionality. The most sophisticated tool for high resolution imaging.
- Subject acquisition with speed and precision. 3.3x more buffer capacity than the original Z 7. Faster continuous shooting. Improved AF performance and functionality.
- Dual card slots (CFexpress/XQD and UHS-II SD). Flexibility and peace of mind when shooting important moments or on assignment, such as wedding and event photography. Comfortable. Durable. Intuitive. Z 7II’s exterior and interior have been thoughtfully designed to be handled and used with max comfort and ease of operation.
- Vertical Grip Ready. Now compatible with the new vertical battery grip for those in need of more power and easier shutter operation when shooting vertically. 4K UHD 60p video. Smoother action, smoother camera motion and the ability to slow down 4K UHD footage in post. USB-C constant power and charging. Never run low on power during livestreams, video shoots and timelapses.
- One mount accepts them all. Compatible with a growing line of NIKKOR Z lenses as well as approx. 360 F-mount NIKKOR lenses with FTZ mount adapter (sold separately).
Those specifications help explain what the camera offers, but they do not establish what an individual used body is worth. The evidence here does not establish a representative fair-market price, so judge a specific listing on its own merits rather than treating an asking price as a universal valuation.
What to check before paying
- Confirm the model. Make sure the listing is for the original Z7, not the later Z 7II. Nikon’s product page showed $2,699.95 against $3,099.95 for the distinct Z 7II body in 2026; that figure is not a current Z7 price. Nikon USA’s Z 7II page
- Review condition and shutter count. Read the seller’s grade and inspect any disclosed shutter-count information. A grade alone does not describe every aspect of a camera’s wear.
- Check warranty and return terms. The cited B&H examples stated a 90-day warranty; check the live listing for complete coverage and return conditions before purchase.
- Compare what is included. Verify whether the offer is body-only or includes a lens, battery, charger, body caps, strap, memory card, or adapter. Account for kit contents rather than comparing unlike bundles.
- Calculate the delivered total. Shipping, sales tax, import charges, and return shipping can change what you ultimately pay.
- Use local prices for local decisions. The UK examples are in pounds and do not establish the going rate in the U.S. or another market.
Body-only or kit: which price should you compare?
A body-only price covers the camera without a lens. The 2018 kit price included the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S, so it should not be compared directly with a bare used body without accounting for the lens and its condition. Nikon specifies compatibility with Z-mount NIKKOR lenses. F-mount NIKKOR lenses can also be used with a mount adapter, though some restrictions may apply. Nikon’s Z7 product information
