The Nike Winflo 12 is best understood as a cushioned road-running shoe for everyday miles, rather than a lightweight choice for tempo sessions or racing. Nike lists it at $110 in the US, with regular and wide fit options; independent reviewer RunRepeat also favors it for daily running, while describing a heavy-footed feel and weaker suitability for faster efforts. Whether it works for you will depend especially on your preferred ride and the shape and volume of your toes.
What is the Nike Winflo 12?
Nike positions the Winflo 12 as a men’s road-running shoe. Its construction combines a thick Cushlon 3.0 foam midsole, a Nike Air unit in the heel, open-hole mesh and outsole flex grooves. The idea is a cushioned shoe for regular road running, not a specialist racing flat. Nike’s US product page lists a price of $110, though prices and stock can change.
Nike says the foam stack is higher than on the Winflo 11 and that the toe box was widened compared with the previous model. Those are manufacturer claims about the design; they do not establish how the shoe will feel on every runner or mean the front of the shoe is broad in every dimension.

How does it feel for running?
RunRepeat’s independent review favors the Winflo 12 for daily running and stability, and characterizes it as cushioned, with substantial shock absorption and bounce in its lab assessment. The same reviewer reports a heavy-footed feel and rates it less favorably for tempo running and racing. In practical terms, consider the Winflo 12 if you want a cushioned shoe for routine runs and are comfortable with a more substantial-feeling trainer. If you prioritize quick turnover, a light feel or a shoe aimed at racing, RunRepeat’s assessment gives reason to look elsewhere. The available sources do not establish a controlled head-to-head comparison with another model, so they cannot support naming a faster or better-value alternative.
What are the weight and drop?
The two sources report different weights and slightly different drops because one is giving Nike’s listed specification and the other is reporting its own measurement. They should not be treated as interchangeable figures.

For stack height, RunRepeat measured 40.9 mm at the heel and 30.3 mm at the forefoot. These are that reviewer’s lab measurements, not Nike’s published specifications. Differences in source and measurement method matter when comparing shoe figures; use like-for-like measurements where possible.

Will the fit work for wide feet or toes?
Nike’s US page offers regular and wide fit selections and says the forefoot has more room than the prior model. RunRepeat’s fit assessment is more nuanced: its lab found generous overall width at the measured point, but an average-width, tapered toe box and relatively low vertical clearance. Its measurements were 98.0 mm overall width at its measured point, 72.6 mm across the toe box and 24.4 mm of toe-box height.

“Widened” is a comparison with the Winflo 11, not a promise of a roomy shape for every foot. A tapered front or limited height can still bother runners whose toes spread widely or need extra vertical space. If toe shape or foot volume is a concern, try the shoe on in the size and width you intend to run in; the wide option does not necessarily change the toe-box shape enough for every foot.

At the $110 price listed on Nike’s US page, the Winflo 12 is worth considering if your priority is a cushioned daily trainer and you are comfortable with the reported substantial feel. The recommendation is less compelling if you are shopping primarily for tempo workouts, racing, or a particularly light shoe: RunRepeat’s assessment points away from those uses. Price and availability may differ by date, size, width and market, so check the current product page before buying.

Rather than deciding from the word “cushioned” alone, weigh the trade-offs that affect your runs: the shoe’s substantial profile, the fit through both width and height, and whether everyday comfort matters more to you than a lighter, faster feel. The available evidence supports that use-case distinction but does not establish a head-to-head winner against other shoes.
