Parents at Foundations Prep School in Bloomfield, New Jersey, reportedly objected to an anti-abortion sign outside the preschool and religious messages in shared interior areas. A report published by The Nerd Stash on October 2, 2026, says families sought a meeting with the school and Brookdale Christian Church, which the preschool reportedly rents space from. The report does not establish who approved the signs or what authority the preschool has over them.
What the report says about the signs
The Nerd Stash reported that a sign outside Foundations Prep read, “Choose Life. Your Mom Did!” It also described religious messages in shared hallways or stairwells, including “Only Jesus Can Save Us” and “Repent and Follow Jesus Now… Before It’s Too Late.” These are sign texts as reported by that outlet; they have not been independently verified here.
The report describes Foundations Prep as privately owned, independently operated, and nonreligious. It says the preschool rents space from Brookdale Christian Church and that the church owns wall space in some shared hallways and stairwells. The available account does not establish the terms of the rental arrangement or whether the school can approve, remove, or otherwise control signs in those areas.

According to The Nerd Stash, some parents complained to both organizations, and a group of families circulated a joint letter requesting an in-person meeting. The report says the letter objected to signs remaining in shared areas and to families being offered another staircase or route as a workaround. The letter itself was not available to inspect, so its contents are known through the outlet’s account.

Who decides what appears in shared spaces?
The available reporting does not answer that question. Ownership of wall space is relevant, but it does not by itself reveal what the rental agreement allows, who manages signage, or what arrangements apply to spaces used by both the church and preschool. Nor does the report clarify which areas are controlled by the school and which are shared.

The Nerd Stash said neither Foundations Prep nor Brookdale Christian Church responded to The Montclair Pod’s questions about who approved the signs or whether any could be removed. That is the response status reported by The Nerd Stash; it does not show whether either organization has spoken since the article appeared.
What is still unknown
- Whether the school, church, or another party approved or installed each sign.
- What the rental agreement says about signage and shared areas.
- Whether either organization has since responded to families or changed the signs’ placement.
- What remedies, if any, the preschool can offer within the limits of its agreement with the church.
Until the school, church, or original parent letter provides more detail, claims about the lease, the institutions’ intentions, or families’ legal options would go beyond what the available account establishes.
