The NETGEAR Orbi 370 is a dual-band WiFi 7 mesh system for homes that need broader coverage and multi-gig Ethernet, but it is not the right fit if you specifically want a 6 GHz band or several wired ports on each unit. Independent testing reported strong 5 GHz speeds and very good range; the system’s main compromises are its two-band design and sparse Ethernet ports.
What is the NETGEAR Orbi 370?
Announced in July 2025, the Orbi 370 is NETGEAR’s lower-priced WiFi 7 mesh family. It uses 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, with no 6 GHz band. That makes it a more limited choice than tri-band WiFi 7 systems for buyers who want 6 GHz access or the highest short-range throughput.
Check the model number before buying: the family name covers separate router, satellite, and multi-unit packages.
| Model | What it is |
|---|---|
| RBE371 | Router |
| RBE370 | Satellite; also sold separately |
| RBE372 | Two-pack: one router and one satellite; the pack tested by RTINGS |
| RBE373 | Three-pack: one router and two satellites |
| RBE374 | Four-pack, listed on NETGEAR’s product page |
Pack contents matter when comparing prices or coverage. A listing that says “Orbi 370” without clearly identifying its SKU and node count is not enough to tell you what is included.

How fast is it, and how much area can it cover?
NETGEAR’s US listing rates the system for up to 5 Gbps of WiFi speed, up to 70 concurrent devices, and up to 2,000 square feet of coverage per router or satellite; its four-pack coverage claim is up to 8,000 square feet. These are manufacturer ratings, not guaranteed results in a particular home. Walls, floors, interference, client devices, broadband service, and satellite placement all affect performance.
Regional specifications can differ. NETGEAR’s EU RBE370 specification advertises up to 3.6 Gbps for the satellite and up to 120 m² of expansion coverage per add-on satellite. Use the specification for your country and exact pack rather than combining figures from different regional listings.

Independent findings are encouraging but should be read in context. RTINGS says it bought and tested the RBE372 two-pack, finding impressive top speeds on 5 GHz and very good range. It also notes that competitive gaming over WiFi is not the system’s strength and recommends a wired connection for lower latency. Tom’s Guide reports that its three-unit setup took 22 minutes; in that review’s test environment, it measured over 1 Gbps wireless and over 2 Gbps wired performance. Those are results from individual review setups, not predictions for every home or internet plan.
What Ethernet ports does each unit have?
The RBE371 router has one 2.5 Gbps WAN port and one 2.5 Gbps LAN port. Each RBE370 satellite has one 2.5 Gbps LAN port. NETGEAR supports wired backhaul, so compatible nodes can use Ethernet for their connection instead of relying only on wireless communication.

These multi-gig ports are useful if your internet service, wired devices, or backhaul can use more than 1 Gbps. But the port count is low: if you need to connect several wired PCs, consoles, TVs, or storage devices near a unit, plan on adding an Ethernet switch. Tom’s Guide also describes browser-based management as offering more controls than the app.
What features and subscriptions should you consider?
NETGEAR lists the Orbi app for setup and management, support for up to three networks (main, IoT, and guest), access control, WPA3, automatic firmware-update support, and VPN support. The system is described as BE5000 and “dual-band with enhanced backhaul”; those labels do not change the fact that it has only 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.

NETGEAR Armor, powered by Bitdefender, is an optional security subscription described on the product page as including threat protection and VPN features, with a trial. It is separate from the router’s listed built-in protections. Feature access and subscription terms can change, so check the current local listing before treating any security or parental-control function as included. TechRadar reports that parental controls require a subscription.

Best Value
- WHOLE-HOME COVERAGE WITH NO DEAD ZONES: The router plus satellite create a seamless mesh system that blanket up to 5,500 sq ft in fast, reliable WiFi from the front door to the backyard and basement to rooftop, link up to 100 devices on one network

The Orbi 370 is most compelling when you want mesh coverage, 2.5 Gbps Ethernet, and a choice of pack sizes without paying for a system whose 6 GHz band you do not need. Consider a tri-band alternative if 6 GHz is a priority. Consider a router or mesh system with more Ethernet ports if you have multiple wired devices at each node and do not want to add a switch.
- Good fit: homes with coverage gaps, devices that can benefit from 5 GHz WiFi, and a need for multi-gig WAN or wired backhaul.
- Less suitable: buyers who want 6 GHz, more built-in Ethernet ports, or consistently low-latency wireless competitive gaming.
Can you add another satellite later?
The RBE370 is an add-on satellite for an RBE371-based Orbi 370 system. NETGEAR’s compatibility matrix marks the RBE371 compatible with the RBE370 and incompatible with the other listed Orbi WiFi 7 router families. Do not assume an RBE370 will work as a standalone router or as a universal satellite for another Orbi model.
