NayaPay users can pay at participating Alipay+ merchants abroad by scanning a merchant QR code in the NayaPay app or showing their own Alipay+ QR code through Quick Pay. NayaPay announced the wider rollout on 9 December 2025, describing initial access in more than 50 countries. Acceptance depends on the merchant and destination; the feature is not a promise that every shop in those countries will take NayaPay.
What NayaPay’s Alipay+ announcement means
The December 2025 announcement is about NayaPay users making payments while outside Pakistan. The payment runs through participating Alipay+ merchants and their QR payment setup. NayaPay said the initial rollout spanned more than 50 countries and named retail, dining, transport, healthcare, entertainment, and other merchant categories. Those categories describe the network’s reach, not guaranteed acceptance at every outlet.
NayaPay’s announcement also cited 40 international mobile payment partners and more than 150 million merchants globally in the Alipay+ network. These are figures published by NayaPay in 2025, not independently audited current counts.

NayaPay’s Help Center describes two ways to pay. The merchant’s setup determines which QR method is used:

- Show your code: Open Quick Pay in the NayaPay app and display your Alipay+ QR code for the merchant to scan.
The Help Center page was last updated on 2 December 2025. Check the current app instructions before travel, since app labels and availability can change.

This is a dated destination list, not confirmation that every merchant in each place accepts Alipay+. Before relying on the feature, check the current NayaPay app or Help Center and look for Alipay+ acceptance at the specific merchant.
Does “global QR payments” mean NayaPay payments into Pakistan?
No. The December 2025 announcement describes the outbound travel use: NayaPay users paying participating Alipay+ merchants abroad. A separate announcement on 24 January 2024 described the complementary inbound direction—Alipay+ partner wallets paying Pakistani businesses, with QR codes compatible with RAAST and Alipay+ wallets. That announcement said more than 25 global payment partners collectively reached over 1.5 billion consumer accounts; it was a historical network claim, not a current count or a measure of the later travel feature.

On 9 April 2024, NayaPay separately announced that its users could pay at Alipay+ merchants in China, citing an 80-million-merchant network in China. That China-specific milestone preceded the broader global rollout announced in December 2025.

The reviewed NayaPay announcement and Help Center page do not specify current transaction fees, how foreign exchange is calculated, payment limits, account eligibility, or real-time country and merchant availability. NayaPay’s announcement referred to “lower costs,” but that wording does not establish that payments are free or disclose an exchange rate. Check the app and current NayaPay terms for the details that apply to your account and destination before you travel.
