“Samsung hidden menu” usually means the TV’s service menu, a set of service-level controls—not the ordinary Settings menu or its standard reset option. Samsung does not publish one universal service-menu entry sequence in the support material covered here, so identify your full model code and check its regional Samsung manual before trying any button combination.
What is the Samsung hidden menu?
The service menu exposes settings intended for servicing a television. It is different from the regular Settings menu, where Samsung documents everyday options such as resetting the TV. A Samsung Community discussion titled “Factory reset code?” concerns the service menu, illustrating why the phrase can be confused with a normal factory reset (Samsung Community discussion).
There is no substantiated universal “factory reset code” for Samsung TVs in the official guidance covered here. Samsung’s public support instructions instead describe model- and software-dependent reset routes (Samsung Support: Reset your Samsung TV).

Record the complete model code, model year, region, and software version. Samsung’s Smart TV developer FAQ says the model code is available at Settings > Support > About This TV (Samsung Smart TV developer FAQ). Menu labels and procedures can vary by model and software, so a sequence or path that matches another television may not match yours.

Use the support page or manual for your TV’s model and region. If your menus do not match the instructions, stop rather than guessing at a similar-looking option.
Try the standard reset menu for an ordinary reset
If your goal is to restore normal TV settings, use Samsung’s documented reset route for your model instead of entering a service menu. Samsung’s support page lists different routes for different model years and generations; consult that page for the exact steps applicable to your set (Samsung Support: Reset your Samsung TV).

For Smart Hub models from 2016 onward, Samsung’s developer FAQ separately documents Settings > Self Diagnosis > Reset as the Smart Hub reset path (Samsung Smart TV developer FAQ). This is a Smart Hub reset, not a service-menu code.
A factory reset returns settings to their defaults. Samsung Australia notes that calibration settings may be lost in some circumstances, while network settings are not affected by the reset route described on that page (Samsung Support: Reset your Samsung TV). Check the instructions for your country and model before proceeding.

Preparing a supported TV for repair: Maintenance Mode
For supported Samsung Smart TVs and Smart Monitors from 2022 onward, Samsung describes Maintenance Mode as a repair-preparation feature. It limits access to basic functions and can support backing up and restoring preferences such as picture settings (Samsung Support: Maintenance Mode). It is separate from the service menu and is not a way to access service-level controls. Samsung specifies support for 2022-and-later models; do not assume it is available on older devices.

The concrete access example in the evidence available here is a video published in 2016 demonstrating remote-button combinations on one Samsung UE32J5500AW. It is a historical, model-specific demonstration—not evidence that the sequence works on current Samsung TVs or other models (2016 UE32J5500AW demonstration).

A Samsung Community moderator warns that changing service-menu settings can produce unfavorable results and may affect warranty coverage. The warranty outcome depends on the applicable terms and region, so check the warranty for your device or ask Samsung before making service-level changes (Samsung Community moderator response).
